Dr. Occult <>
Richard Occult
Cost 4
7/7
Shadowpact
Hi kids, I hope you’re enjoying “impossible
intros” week as much as we are at pojo, i.e. not
at all. As the smart ones amongst you might have
guessed, none of the cards we are looking at
this week have anything that could help towards
a decent introduction. Not in the slightest.
Want to know what I have here…
“Dude seriously, who the hell has Occult as
their last name? Did he get it changed from like
Richard Spooky Von Weirdness III or something?
Seriously Occult, what the heck?”
That was my best. See what I mean by “impossible
intros” week.
And thus…
Dr O gets his stats pumped to 9/9 if you have
the magical 25 or less endurance that gets
Shadowpact all hot and bothered. If you have
less than 10 endurance you are going to lose the
game, but he gets another +1/+1, so there’s
that. Without flight or range his attack options
are limited without using plot twists, so
there’s that too. Finally there is a boost cost
of 2 allowing you to put Rose Psychic into play,
assuming she isn’t already on the field.
As pojo’s funniest, prettiest and most awesome
reviewer pointed out before, Rose Psychic isn’t
all that great on turn 3 and Shadowpact has
better options on 6 than Rose and Dr O. So boost
is out.
Due to Shadowpact’s lack of awesome 4 drop
character that aren’t called June Moon you could
maybe have this guy as the second stringer 4
drop of choice.
I did say maybe.
Sealed: 2
Constructed: 3

Dr. Occult
There we go, that’s better…
Dr. Occult
Richard Occult
Shadowpact/4/7/7
While you have 25 or less endurance, Dr. Occult
gets +2 ATK / +2 DEF and an additional +1 ATK /
+1 DEF if you have 10 or less endurance.
Boost 2: When Dr. Occult comes into play, if you
don’t control Rose Psychic, search your deck for
a card named Rose Psychic, put it into your
front row, and shuffle your deck.
This is Shadowpact’s four drop of choice. While
you usually play June Moon on turn 3 (with
Conjuration), it is interchangeable with Dr.
Occult. Generally, playing that Conjuration will
drop you down to 25 endurance, meaning that you
can have a 9/9 on turn 3 or turn four. That’s
scary bad.
But one more thing to notice is that he’s not
team stamped. Which is great, because a 9/9 four
drop is great in a Kree Deck, if you’re thinking
what I’m thinking…
Modern Age: 4/5
Silver Age: 4/5
Golden Age: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
Very nice…
