Flight, Cosmic
Legionnaires
Having a girlfriend who can split into three
would be great for the <ahem> obvious reasons.
But seriously, think about the downsides. How
long would you have to spend going shopping? It
would never end. And then you’d have to talk
about feelings all the time, in triplicate. And
your house would be filled with shoes. Every
room would just be shoes. And you would never,
ever get one second in the bathroom. And she
would literally take months to get ready for a
night out. I’m not kidding it would take months
at a time. And all you would ever get to watch
on TV would be The OC, Sex and The City or
Bridget Jones’ fricking Diary. And the worst of
it? The fear-inducing, gut-clenching,
pray-for-the-end-of-all-things worst of it?
Imagine having to put up with three of her at
“that time of the month”.
Yeah forget that man.
Triad is the only character card that is limited
to three copies per deck. She’s not an army
version, but she’s not unique either. Her
effect, by the way, is awesome. Put her in play,
discard a card and you can get two copies of her
from your deck. That’s awesome. Or in Yugioh
“ZOMGMETA+1CARDADVANTAGE+1HAKZORS!” Or in
English, “You get an extra card in your hand,
and you’ve eliminated any chance of having to
draw a level 1 character late in the game”.
If you don’t get her for your first recruit
phase, then it doesn’t really matter, because
Legion strategy encourages you to under-drop
characters. And Triad is great for this purpose.
Since she has cosmic she fits neatly into the
Legion’s “remove a cosmic counter” theme and you
can also add her into any team attack to help
with the Legion’s second theme as well. (Since
all Legionnaires share flight, this makes
planning attacks fairly easy).
There really isn’t any reason not to put her in
a Legion deck, and she has great swarm potential
for non-mono decks as well. In other words,
Triad is awesome.
Times three.
Sealed: 2
Constructed: 4

Triad
Okay, this is a cool Legionnaires card that I
like
Triad
Luornu Durgo
Legionnaires/1/1/1
Flight
Triad is not unique
When Triad comes into play, you may discard a
card. If you do, search your deck for up to two
cards named Triad, reveal them, put them into
your hand, and shuffle your deck.
A deck can have no more than three cards named
Triad.
Cosmic
This is a very unique card, considering that
it’s not unique. First of all, this is the only
card in the game where you can have only three
copies of it in a deck instead of the usual
four. I suppose that’s fair, because the ability
is very good. When you play Triad, you can
discard a card and grab 2 more Triads. Sounds to
me like a Thunder Dragon, instant +1. Of course,
it’s a Thunder Dragon that’s team stamped, but
it’s still cool. And since Legionnaires is about
swarming purposes (I think), having more
characters is good for you. And having that
cosmic with no cosmic ability will come in handy
for those random “remove a cosmic counter” costs
the team has.

Cosmic
Well. This card is unique in its
non-uniqueness... its the first card (as far as
I can tell) to impose a restriction on how many
of it can be in the deck. LESS than 4. But when
you play her, you can get all 3. This is a
pretty decent ability as it can guarantee you
your turn 1 and 2. She has Cosmic, so she is
useable with last weeks card fairly well. And to
boot, her 'search' ability can thin your deck,
and gives you a chance to reshuffle your deck to
boot. I don't know much about the legionnaires,
but I like this card in and of itself.
Sealed: 2/5 Not so amazing here. She is
uncommon, so you will most likely not see more
than one of her.
Constructed: 4/5 Cheap character, cheap cosmic,
cheap deck thinning... and with flight! All in
all, a pretty solid (if weak in stats)
character. :) |
