Today we se
fit to review Captain Boomerang <> George
Harkness
And so…
Returning our Antipodean friend to the hand may
force our vainglorious opponent to return a
fellow of our choosing back once more unto his
unwilling hand, provided the fellow selected is
of no greater level than the Captain himself.
However it must truly be noted that this power
itself is dependent solely upon our command of
the initial honour of the combat.
Parallels aplenty are readily apparent with the
Aboriginal throwing stick from which our good
friend does take his title. And one does not arm
oneself with such a paltry weapon should one be
challenged by a gentle fellow to face said
fellow with pistols at the time of dawn. And
that itself is in the nature of our game, to
face his fire with our fire and hope to emerge
victorious. Not to face his fire armed only with
a wooden stick.
Indeed limitations placed upon our friend render
him less than adequate in the vast range of
situation a player of this our fine game, may
find himself entwined within. We must sacrifice
neither power nor position least it be at the
expense of the enemy, and not simply to ensure
mutual harm. We gain nothing from this card that
we do not lose.
And that is not acceptable.
