Zombie Spider-Man Theme Tune (1967)
Today we
review Zombie Spider-Man, who is both a
Spider-Man and a Zombie. Hence he becomes a
Zombie Spider-Man.
As a
Spider-Man, he can make your opponent exhaust a
character they control. As a Zombie he can come
back from the dead more times than Joan Rivers.
Sadly however,
as a special edition MAA card you can only pick
up Zombie Spider-Man by paying a lot of UDE
points and waiting maybe a year or two for
delivery.
But you really
shouldn’t bother, because Pathetic Attempt
negates both the exhaustion and resurrection
effects of Zombie Spider-Man, making this card
useless.

Zombies!!!!!

Zombie
Spider-Friends/4/7/7
Range
Activate, KO Spider-Man > Target
player exhaust a ready character he controls. At
the start of the recovery phase this turn,
return Spider-Man from his owner’s KO’d pile to
play under your control. Use only during the
combat phase.
Am I the only one who didn’t
really care for Marvel Zombies? It didn’t really
make any sense to just turn everyone into
zombies. Eh, oh well…
So, this Spider-Man exhausts a
character (figures). Problem is, you don’t
actually get a choice on who to exhaust. And you
lose a blocker for the turn. Which kinda defeats
the purpose of exhausting a character. But then
again, you don’t actually lose a character,
either. It’ll come back to haunt again for next
turn. Still, even if I temporarily lose a
character, I’d at least want a choice on who to
exhaust.
Although, I do like his ability
to bypass uniqueness. But still, he doesn’t have
much going for him outside of defensive
purposes.

W00t! Sorry
about being away for a while, folks... if you
read my WoW review for today, it should say
exactly what is up (unless the powers that be
removed it from the email). Anywho, I'm back
and I SHOULD be able to do cards for a while,
unless life throws me another curve ball. YAY!!!
On to the card!!!
Spider-Man, Zombie (Spider-Friends)
4 cost, 7 ATK/7 DEF, Range
Activate, KO Spider-Man >> Target player
exhausts a ready character he controls. At the
start of the next recovery phase this turn,
return Spider-Man from his owner's KO'd pile to
play under your control. Use the ability only
during the combat phase.
Holy WOW! Zombies rock! This is crazy
cool. KO him, and exhaust someone. Then bring
him back. Not shabby at all. If your opponant
has the initiative and a bigger guy than you do
(or, well, ANYONE that you don't like, for that
matter), exhaust him. Joy of joys! And Spidey
here has average stats for his cost, so he can
attack and/or take a hit fairly well. I like
him. I'd run 4 in my Spider-Friends deck... if
I had any. I need some money like NOW. :D
Sealed: 4/5 Good stats, and an pretty cool
ability make him VERY playable in sealed.
Constructed: 4/5 Again, his ability is fun, and
his stats are good enough to not shake a stick
at. :) |
