Deck Designer Fantastic Four Equip Deck - Josh Young

Deck Designer 2 – Fantastic Four Equipment Deck

Hello everybody, it me, Josh, again. I hope everyone liked my last article, ‘cause here come another one. I have decided that I will do a Deck Designer for each team. At the end of the article, I will let you vote on the three remaining teams for me to write an article on. Anyway, onto the article.

Object of the Deck

This deck is all about putting out character turn after turn after turn. You use Alicia Masters to pump out Thing and Human Torch early, playing Invisible Woman (Sue Storm) to make all your guys reinforced. You then proceed to play equipment, and win!

How to Play the Deck

I didn’t include this last time, because I didn’t think about it. This is just a quick insight on how to play the deck. You want initiative turn 2, 4, and 5 – 7. Turn 1, when your opponent has initiative, you let them do their thing, and if they didn’t play a character, play Alicia Masters. If they did play a guy, just take some to the face. You can usually play her turn one, but sometimes not. Turn 2, you want to play She – Thing, Human Torch. But, the best part is, if you played Alicia Masters first turn, the big 5/5 beat stick Thing comes out to smash some guys up. Ouch. Turn four is when Invisible Woman comes out. All your guys are reinforced. Ouch. Turn five, six, and seven is when you can play your really big guys, like Mr. Fantastic, Thing, the Ever Lovin’ Blue Eyed Monster, and Hulk. Hulk should come in at about at least 15 – 16 attack. Well, hopefully you have a better understanding of how to play the deck better.

Card Analysis

Alicia Masters

As I said above, you want to play her turn one. Then, turn two, you can bring out the 5/5 Thing. She also helps you bring out Johnny Storm and have an extra resource if you need it.

Invisible Woman, Sue Storm

Possibly the best card in the deck, she will reinforce all of your guys. That’s right, 0, yes that is a zero, breakthrough endurance damage will come to you. She also has a nice attack/defense ratio. That’s a mighty fine card if you ask me.

Thing, Ben Grimm

I know I keep saying this, but this is super important. YOU WANT THIS GUY OUT TURN TWO. Get him out turn two, and your opponent will probably have a hard time coming back on track. Also, his effect is not bad too (even though the highest costing equipment is one). It can help get you

She – Thing

One of the best two drops in the game, she is a 3/3 for 2 which are some of the best stats for a two drop, plus her effect is nice, too. Don’t be afraid to attack a bigger character with things like Advanced Hardware or Fantasticar. She gets rid of that nicely.

Human Torch, Johnny Storm

This guy is for going against Brotherhood decks, where you have to stun the small stuff early. If you pump him up, nothing can survive against him on turn 1, 2, and very little stuff on turn 3. Very good card.

Mr. Fantastic, Stretch

Another one of the best cards in the deck. With him out, all of your equipment in this deck is free. Plus he can move the equipment around. If one of your guys needs help, he can just throw them the thing they need. Although it might be a little hard for him to throw that heavy Fantasticar…

Thing, Heavy Hitter

Not much to say about this guy… He truly is a heavy hitter

Thing, the Ever – Lovin’ Blue – Eyed Thing

Wow. The thing that separates this deck from the Brotherhood deck I did a few days back, is that this deck has an early game, a midgame, and an endgame. This guy is endgame, when both you and your opponent have a low amount of endurance. You play this guy, send all the little guys out of there, and then proceed to win with your barrage of Fantastic Four dudes.

Hulk, New Fantastic Four

This guy also provides late game beats. You want him to come in at about 15 or 16 attack, if not higher. Plus, he grows every turn!

She Hulk, Jennifer Walters

Throw her down on turn 3 (when your opponent should have initiative), and only Logan and Thing can take her down. And she’ll still stun them, too.

Dual Sidearms

Just like I said last time, “Additional firepower is never, ever a bad idea”.

Advanced Hardware

One of the best equipment in the game, for a measly one resource point (zero with StretchJ), you get +3 Attack points and Pyro’s effect. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Fantasticar

Yea, all your guys get flight. Yea, all your guys get +1/+1. Yea, you can move this around with Stretch right before the character holding it gets stunned. What’s better than that?

Borrowed Blade

It’s a free equipment that lets you draw cards with Research Base. It also gives +1/+1. That’s good right there.

Antarctic Research Base

This is it ladies and gentlemen, your card drawing engine. With 17 equipments, you should be drawing some cards.

It’s Clobberin’ Time

This card is one of the best pump cards. Just push through some extra damage, get some extra Defense to not get stunned, some extra Attack to stun, or a combination of all 3.

Savage Beatdown

I am so glad I got these early. $25.50 on Ebay… for ONE! Anyway, this card doesn’t need explaining. Pump yer guys up by 5. Nuff’ said.

Unstable Molecules

It gives some defense, so you can help not getting stunned. It also costs zero. J

Four Freedoms Plaza

There are only two in here, but that is because it is kinda hard to use. You have to have all 4 out, but that can be arranged. You can search for ANY card you need. Yes, that is ANY card. Nice.

Well, that is my take on a FF deck. What do y’all want next time? Email me at amdyoung@comcast.net Thanks!
