Stunned characters your opponents control cannot be recovered.

Here’s one of the best and most used characters in the game, and with good reason. Let’s break him down…

Cost: 7

It depends on the environment you’re playing in, the quality of the decks and the skills and luck of the players as to whether or not a game makes it to turn 7. Often a game will end on turn 6, or resources will be depleted so that when turn 7 arrives, there’s not enough resources to recruit him; so don’t expect this guy to hit the field every game. When he does, however, he’s one of the best characters to come into play. With Magneto, Master of Magnetism’s stats and effect, though, it’s a good thing his cost is so high. Rating: 4.0/5.0

ATK/DEF:

At 16 each for attack and defense, he won’t go down easily (if at all), and he rates pretty high in ATK and DEF among 7-cost characters. There’s only 4 other guys who can match his power, and another 4 who can out muscle him in the 7-cost arena. Rating: 4.5/5.0

Range/Flight:

He has both, making Magneto, Master of Magnetism able to strike anywhere FROM anywhere. As if he wasn’t powerful enough already! This gives him full versatility on the field. Rating: 5.0/5.0

Effect:

Only one effect, but it’s a killer! Magneto, MoM makes sure that any character that gets stunned doesn’t come back for more. This means a huge field advantage should you have a few other characters in play, and can potentially clear the opponent’s field, leaving them all but defenseless next turn. The only kink to this is he can’t be stunned if you want to use his effect, which could make him a number-one target if your opponent has initiative!

Rating: 10.0(if you have initiative) or 5.0(if the initiative is someone else’s)/5.0

Team Affiliation:

Brotherhood. The Brotherhood has some good characters and abilities, and has seen a large amount of tournament-level play. Brotherhood decks are very powerful, packing some impressive power and strategy, and ranking very high among players for playability and success-rate. Brotherhood is easy to play, and Magneto, MoM is often the fatal blow for the Brotherhood to deliver.

Lacking Loyalty is a huge plus for him as well. This makes him splashable in other decks (which happens a lot), and with his combination of stats and abilities, he’s a prime pick for those high level cost slots when picking characters for your deck.

Rating: 5.0/5.0

Overall:

In stats, ability and splash-ability, he makes it as one of the top character cards to play in almost any deck out there. Magneto, Master of Magnetism has power, versatility, flexibility and a great effect to boot. He gets my vote as one of the best high-cost characters in the game.

Marvel Modern Age: Sadly, Brotherhood has been phased out here, but if he was still usable, he’d get my vote for a top choice for the 7-cost slot in many decks. (A potential: 5.0/5.0)

Golden Age: A great pick here, and one I highly recommend. He won’t see play every game, but is a great ‘just in case’ card. 5.0/5.0

Limited: One of the most playable high-cost characters, and in this format, you’re more likely to make it to turn 7 and beyond, so grab him if you see him! 5.0/5.0
