SYSTEM TCG TOURNAMENT
Upper Deck Entertainment Also Invites Players to
Attend Sneak Preview Tournaments on February 5 and 6
CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 14, 2004)—To mark the
one-year anniversary of Upper Deck Entertainment’s (UDE)
wildly popular Vs. System trading card game (TCG),
UDE is pleased to host an exciting Super Hero™
weekend at the Alexis Park Resort in Las Vegas on
Saturday and Sunday, February 5–6. The weekend’s
events will include UDE’s $10,000 Vs. System
Championship and a Marvel Knights TM Sneak Preview
event. Sneak Previews will also be held around the
country that weekend to allow fans to catch an early
look at the upcoming Marvel Knights expansion.
Players in the $10,000 Championship Tournament will
bring their Vs. System Constructed decks to battle
for the top prize of $2,500. Other players finishing
in the Top 20 will win prizes ranging from
$200–$1,500. In addition, the Top 10 players in this
tournament will earn invitations to compete in
upcoming UDE $1 Million Pro Circuit tournaments held
throughout the year.
The Sneak Preview Tournaments will give new and
veteran players the chance to be among the first to
play with brand-new cards from the Marvel Knights
expansion, including cards featuring the
much-anticipated Concealed mechanic. Concealed
characters lurk in the shadows of the hidden area,
ready to strike at all times while remaining safe
from other attacking characters. Each player in a
Sneak Preview Sealed Pack event will receive five
Marvel Knights booster packs from which to construct
a deck. The top finishers will receive great prizes,
and participants will each receive a foil extended
art promotional card just for showing up to play!

and the Punisherä. The set also showcases the many
heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe, along
with new characters from teams introduced in the
previous Marvel TCG expansions, Marvel Origins and
Web of Spider-Man.
The Marvel TCG uses the innovative Vs. System game
engine—UDE’s unique engine designed and developed
specifically to support Super Heroes in one-on-one
competition. The Vs. System retains its excitement
in multiplayer play and is designed to support
Sealed Pack and Booster Draft formats.
