up once again
with global
comic industry
giant, Marvel
Entertainment,
Upper Deck
Entertainment
(UDE) announces
today plans to
release a brand
new
multi-player
superhero
trading card
game (TCG) made
especially for
kids. The new
game,
Marvel Ultimate
Battles,
will be
available at
participating
mass and hobby
retail outlets
across North
America in April
2008.
“Our Marvel TCG
has been a huge
success amongst
our core TCG
players, which
consists of
players ages 16
and up,” said
Hyrum Savage,
Product Manager
for
Marvel Ultimate
Battles.
“We wanted to
extend this fun
experience to
our younger
audience with a
new Marvel
superhero TCG
made especially
for them.”
The new quick
and
easy-to-learn
TCG will feature
characters from
the biggest and
most popular
Marvel comics
and films, such
as The Hulk,
Iron Man
(Paramount
Pictures’
Iron Man
will be released
in May 2008),
Captain America
and Spider-Man.
in a
multi-player
game that allows
kids to take on
the roles of
their favorite
superheroes.
Utilizing a
fast,
action-packed
game engine
designed by UDE,
players will
create their
roster of
favorite Marvel
characters and
duke it out
until one is
left standing.
Marvel Ultimate
Battles
offers starter
sets and booster
packs for
purchase. Two
starter sets
will be
available, each
themed either
around The Hulk
or Iron Man, and
will include 48
cards, including
an Ultimate Rare
card, a fold-out
playmat and
rulebook; each
starter set
comes complete
with all
components
needed to get a
game started.
Booster packs
will consist of
nine cards per
pack, complete
with common,
rare and
Ultimate Rare
cards. There
will be 165
cards total in
the set.
