UPPER DECK ENTERTAINMENT CROWNS THE FIRST-EVER

WORLD OF WARCRAFT® TRADING CARD GAME

U.S. NATIONAL CHAMPION

After two days of fierce World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game (TCG) competition, Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) crowns the first-ever U.S. World of Warcraft® TCG National Champion, Brad Watson.  Beating over 460 tournament participants, the Chicago-native powered his way through the Top 8 to add the National Championship to his growing list of World of Warcraft® TCG accomplishments.  Not only does Watson now have a Dream Machine Championship (Chicago) title to his list of wins, but a U.S. National Championship title as well!

Watson and other top 50 finishers were awarded an invite to the 2007 World of Warcraft® TCG $100,000 World Championship Tournament in San Diego (Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 2) to take on the world’s top World of Warcraft TCG players for the grand prize.

Watson and fellow top players received prizes ranging from high-end computer laptops, state-of-the-art gaming systems, 30” computer monitors, and exclusive World of Warcraft® TCG prizes. All participants received Extended Art versions of “Breanna Greenmother” and “Tempest, Son-of-Storms” TCG cards.

Hundreds of World of Warcraft® TCG U.S. National Championship participants earned a spot to play in this past weekend’s tournament by competing in various tournaments throughout the nation. These tournaments included Regional Tournaments -- in which players would have to place in the top four spots of that tournament -- or in World of Warcraft® TCG Dream Machine Championship Tournaments -- in which players would have to place in the top eight spots of that tournament to qualify.  Players also qualified to play in the National Championship Tournament using “ranking points” or “rating points” earned by playing in UDE-sanctioned tournaments.
