Upper Deck Prepares for Battle at Fourth Annual BlizzCon!

Trading Card Game leader is hosting a slew of TCG events this weekend in Anaheim

Carlsbad, CA (August 20, 2009) – The Upper Deck Company will once again be at the center of attention this weekend during the fourth annual BlizzCon event, which is being held Friday and Saturday, August 21-22, at the Anaheim Convention Center. As in years past, Upper Deck will bring a full schedule of World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game and Collectible Miniatures Game tournaments to BlizzCon. There will be events for both new players and experienced competitors alike featuring awesome prizes like Apple iPods and Spectral Tiger and El Pollo Grande Loot cards!

Players of the World of Warcraft MMO will want to play in one of the El Pollo Grande tournaments, which are being held several times throughout both days. Not only will the winner walk away with the coveted Magic Rooster mount from Fields of Honor, but every round Loot cards will be randomly awarded to players in the tournament. And at least one Spectral Tiger will be given away as a door prize in every tournament!

New players will want to learn the game from one of Upper Deck’s experienced demo staff members, and then jump right in to a Starter Deck Beginner’s Event. Then they’ll be ready to play in the daily Beginner’s Tournament, which will also be giving away awesome door prizes including Spectral Tigers.

In addition to its organized play events and demos for beginners, Upper Deck will boast its “P-Card” (Personalized Card) station at its corporate booth where BlizzCon attendees can get their pictures taken (in front of a green screen) next to such popular World of Warcraft characters as “Illidian Stormrage,” “King Varian of Stormwind” and “Arthas the Lich King.” Upper Deck will also have famous World of Warcraft artists Andrew Robinson and Rob Lemen on hand at the booth, along with World of Warcraft Minis sculptor James Carter, working on future pieces for all to see. Lastly, Upper Deck will have a full retail store at its booth where it will be selling its Summer Convention Exclusive World of Warcraft Minis figure: Fleet Master Seahorn, available for $9.99, while supplies last.
