Latro's Shifting Sword
Way too expensive: a 4-drop that costs 2 to swing
for a measly 3 attack is just not good enough.
Making other swords swing for less is negligible
here, since most of the good weapons used are axes,
maces or daggers. Trash Blade, the big epic swords
or another Latro's are the only swords really
applicable, and all are mediocre (and the epics
won't be swinging until the turn after they drop
anyway).
The dual wield ability is better achieved by other
weapons: namely Warp Splinter's Thorn.

Latro's Shifting Sword
Weapon
Class: Hunter, Rogue, Warrior
Cost: 4
Attack: 3
Strike cost: 2
Your hero has dual wield.
You pay 2 less to strike with other Swords.
I am a big fan of this card, dual wield blended in
to a weapon is perfect, and it helps those solo
decks out there.
Throw 4 copies of this card in your deck, add some
krol blades (if you’re a hunter) so you can play 2
latro’s together, or a latro and a Krol Blade.
This is a 4-drop 3-2 weapon which
has 2 great effects. First it gives the hero
dual-wield, making the ability that does so a
binder stuffer; Second, it makes swinging with
other swords cost 2 less. The best thing about
it is that if you equip 2 Latro’s swords, they
reduce each other’s costs and you can swing with
both in the same combat - FOR FREE!!! Or swing
with one for free now, and with the second one
on defense for free. I like free. I think this
card rocks because it frees up resources for
other stuff. Granted you need a second sword to
get something out of this effect, but all the
more reason to run 4 of these in your deck.
Just one more card to make weapon
wielding heroes better than spellcasters.
Sealed: 3.0 Not as
good here because you need to stack up on
weapons.
Constructed: 5.0 Wow- My
first 5.0
Casual: 4.0
Raid:
3.0 Lots of cards on the field doesn’t work well
in raids.

Latro's Shifting
Sword
4 Cost, 3 ATK (Melee), 2 Strike
Weapon- Sword, Melee (1)
Hunter, Rogue, Warrior
Your hero has dual wield.
You pay 2 less to strike with other swords.
Wowzers... 4 cost is a bit pricey for 3 ATK and 2
Strike normally, but the free Dual Wield, and lower
cost to strike with other swords is great. As its
noted in other places, if you equip 2 Latro's
Shifting Swords, they negate each others strike
costs, so you can strike for 3, twice, for free. Not
too shabby at all. And on top of that, the art work
is pretty darned cool.
Sealed: 3/5 Not a bad weapon, but you most likely
won't get alot of use out of its abilities in
sealed.
Constructed: 3/5
Casual: 4/5 Fury Warriors in casual PVP for the win!
:D
Raid: 3/5 Not great if you are tanking, but rogues
can get some extra milage out of this card in raids.

Latro's Shifting
Sword
Anyone who is familiar at all with competitive TCG's
immediately realized how bad the Abliity Card "Dual
Wield" was. It pretty much begged your opponent to
2-for-1 you with a Chipper or a Confessor, and
rarely saw play in competitive decks.
The great design team over at UDE realized this, and
managed to incorporate the concept of "Dual Wield"
into a viable form: an Ongoing effect attached to a
Weapon.
This way, if a Character that was wielding two
weapons loses his Latro's Sword were to a Chipper,
etc.. there would be no Uniqueness Violation, and
therefore the second Weapon would not affected.
What's more, Latro's sword has decent stats,
reasonable costs, and reduces the strike cost of
another sword by 2. You can easily see how powerful
a combo you can make with Latro's Shifting Sword and
Thrash Blade, or even a second Shifting Sword.
The added "Dual Wield" mechanic is not unique to
this weapon, as it also appears on Timeslicer and
Warp Splinter's Thorn, all of which are from the new
set Fires of Outland. This will increase the utility
of Equipment in this game, and hopefully lead to an
increase of usage.
--------------------------------
Sealed:
2/5 - It's unlikely that you will have too many
weapons in your packs, but Shifting Sword's are
decent enough are their own.
Constructed:
4/5 - One of the better Weapons available in the
game, it can open up all sorts of combinations.
Casual:
5/5 - Swinging two swords is cool, plain and simple.
Have fun with it!
Raid:
3/5 - Equipment tends to not survive long against
the Event cards in Onyxia, and the Ability cards in
Molten Core. Having said that, two Swords is always
better then one, and the ability to swing for heavy
damage quickly is always an asset.
