Valthak Spiritdrinker
When I first saw this guy, people told me his effect
just meant you couldn't be killed by Onyxia's
powers. Recently I discovered that while Valthak is
on the field, you cannot lose. It's a jank effect
that will probably only delay the inevitable in any
but the closest games, but if you look at Valthak's
stats you'll realize that they're actually pretty
good. The only 4-cost ally with better total stats
than valthak is the vanilla 5/3 guy. Valthak has a
solid 3/4 putting him out of range of damage spells
other than lightning bolt, and giving him enough
attack to take out most mid-range allies. Sure at
turn 4 you could be playing Ophelia, but what if you
want to be more aggro? And next set, combined with
Queen of the Banshees this guy could become pretty
mean.
Constructed 4/5 I actually see some potential in
this guy
Casual 5/5 It doesn't get much more jank YEAH

Your hero can't
be destroyed.
Well hello
everyone to another week of World of Warcraft COTD
reviews, let’s see what we have today.
Valthak is a nice
addition to the Horde army, it has better stats the
Thunderhead Hyppogryph, but this one doesn’t have
ferocity.
It does have a
effect, was keeps your Hero from being destroyed,
but make no mistake, if your Hero has no health
left, you have lost.
So I personally
prefer the Hyppogryph over this card, striking
immediately is a big advantage.
But this is nice
card, which can certainly see play, but not much I
think.

Horde Ally
Cost: 4
3/4
Power: Your hero can't be destroyed.
A 3/4 for a 4-drop. His (I think) stats aren't too
bad, but it's his ability you're after. Your hero
can't be destroyed means exactly what it sounds
like. As long as Valthak is on the field, your hero
is immortal. Even taking fatal damage won't kill it.
Personally, though, I don't think this card makes
the cut.
The only way that Valthak is really useful is if you
can keep him alive. So you are going to need a
healthy stock of protectors and a way to keep their
health up (deacon johanna). But if you have all that
already on the field, you don't really need Valthak.
He is best used in a warlock build after the next
set comes out. He would make a decent combo with
Doomguard. Otherwise, save your resources.
Sealed: 3/5 (With limited removal, he may buy you a
couple extra turns.
His stats also aren't that bad for a drop 4.)
Constructed: 1.5/5 (May keep you alive one extra
turn)
Casual: 3.5/5 (Have some fun with him)
Raid: 1/5 (He won't hinder Onyxia one bit)

Before I get to the review proper I thought I'd
introduce myself, the names Red Comet.
I've played many TCGs so I figured I'd give my
opinion on cards for the one I'm playing currently.
If you see issues with my reviews I welcome you to
PM me on the pojo boards( I'm Red Comet there as
well).
Now on to Valthak
A 3/4 4 drop ? Not the worst stats but there's
better out there .
Oh you hero can't be destroyed ? Well my friends
that is sick.
The best uses for this card involve stall but right
now WoW isn't set up for that.
Instead Valthak belongs in warlock where the hero
takes a ton of damage or priest where the armor
isn't going to absorb many hits.
Next set I see a lot of potential with Paladins but
right now he's a very specialized card that
needs much thought before he's played
Card Rating:
Sealed: 2/5
Almost worthless but if you luck into a warlock he
might be worth the slot
Constructed: 2/5
As I said he's got potential just not the card pool
to support it.
Casual: 3/5
It doesn't hurt a deck in this format if you toss in
a valthak but don't expect him to win you any games
Raid: 4/5
If you can keep him alive he saves you from Ony's 20
tap death bomb

Valthak
Spiritdrinker
Greetings, Pojo-readers! This is my first COTD ever,
so let’s get started!
Valthak is a Horde Ally with 3 ATK and 4 Health for
a cost of 4 resources. Nothing special here, but
look at his effect. He gives your hero a protection
from being destroyed! How good isn’t that?!
Well, that’s the question. When you look at this
card, you’ll probably wonder where this card might
fit in. In constructed or casual, there are better
cards to use then this one. Valthak’s effect doesn’t
give enough protection to be useful. If your hero
has taken lethal damage is waiting to die, your
opponent will target this ally for their next
attacks. And when Valthak dies, so does your hero.
Though, this card could be nice in a raid, but with
all the destruction Onyxia has, she will eat this
guy to breakfast.
There is also a possible combo with one of the new
Unique Allies which will arrive in “Through the Dark
Portal”. I’m of course speaking of Queen Sylvanas
Windrunner. Get her out and this fellow, your
opponent will have a hard time killing you. That is,
if Sylvanas survives.
Overall, he’s an ally with decent stats for 4
resources. The effect won’t really matter in most
cases.
Hello everyone,
my name is Russian Mafia aka Trevor, and this is my
first COTD. And now on with the reviewing. Valthak
Spirit Drinker. Ally, undead Warlock. Text: Your
hero can’t be destroyed. Valthak is a 4 for 4/3. Not
bad for the cost. And then there’s the effect. HOLY
MOLLY!!!! HERO CAN’T BE DESTROYED??? This is the
card that saves you at the last possible moment,
when you need to set up another combo or set up
defenses. Of course Valthak then becomes the prime
target for your opponent. He can survive most ally
attacks, and he can take maybe a couple of abilities
(Accept fire ball J). I would run two, maybe 3 of
these guys in any deck. It lets you delay the
inevitable. You definitely do nit want to use him by
turn 4.
