John's Top Ten Monster, Magic,and Trap Cards
Monsters
10.Sangan-A nice search engine. Not to mention, this card thins out our deck.
9.Witch of Black Forest-Another serach engine and a better one at that. It can search out cards that can help in a duel, mainly strong monsters(Ex.)Jinzo, Zombyra the Dark, Goblin Attack Force, Gemini Elf
8.Magician of Faith-MoF can get back vital magic cards AND it's not restricted.
7.The Mystical Knight of Jackal-Some people might think it's a bad card, but it's actually amazing. Looking closely at the effect you can actually see that it'll burden your opponent with the same card over and over again. The only drawback that puts this card at number seven is that your opponent might have monster removal cards in his/her hand.
6.Don Zaloog-This card isn't too strong, but that isn't something magic cards can't take care of. You can choose from two effects when damage is inflicted to your opponents life points by this monster. You could randomly discard a card from you opponents hand or discard the top two cards of you opponents deck.
5.Cyber Jar-Monster Destruction. This card can put you at an advantage or a disavantage. When this card is flipped, all monsters are sent to the graveyard. Then, both player draw five cards. If there are any level 4 or less monsters in your hand, you may special summon them/it in face-up attack mode or face-down defense mode. The other cards drawn are placed in your hand. This card as I said could hurt you if you don't draw any monster cards or strong monster cards, leaving your opponent a wide open space for attack.
4.Lava Golem-Easily one of the best monsters from PGD. You sacrafice two of you opponents monsters to place it on there side of the field. During the standby phases, they lose 1000 lp. There's alot of stall cards out there like Messenger of Peace or Swords of Revealing Light. As for your opponent sacraficing it, just use Mask of Restrict. THis card would go great with a cemetary recursion deck where couple Mask of Restricts are used.
3.Injection Angel Lily-I see the potential in this card and don't mind paying the 2000 Lp to increase its attack, but still, there are lots of monster removal cards and its easy target of magic cards like fissure.
2.Yatagarusa-Obviously the best spirit card. Some people are still confused about this card and don't see its use. The point of it is not used to stop your opponent from drawing cards and inflict 200 Lp damage every turn. The point is to get it out to stop the card drawing then use your other monsters(whether they were out there already or revived from the graveyard)to damage there life points.
1.Jinzo-In my opinion, it is definantly the best monster out there. Some people might think it's useless because it negates your own traps. The good thing is that it negates your opponents too. It can ease the thought of whether that you opponent laid a trap for you or not as your positive that they can't activate it.
Magic
There are many great magic cards out there, so I'm not going to bother on elaborating on them.
10.Mystical Space Typhoon-It's an Amazing card. The only thing is that when I play, I meet people all the time who think that this card can negate the effect of say..Raigeki when they activate it on Raigeki.
9.The Shallow Grave-With this card you can put flip effect cards back onto the field like Cyber Jar or MoF.
8.Fairy Meteor Crush-Most people that I've played play cards in defense mode when I have my monsters out so I get very annoyed when I only have one monster out and keep picking off my opponents monsters, but not damaging their life points. This card is ideal for getting past that situation.
7.Premature Burial-Basically toned down version of Monster Reborn. The downsides of this card is that it's a equip card and you can only special summon from your graveyard.
6.Mage Power-Great great card.Many people think that it's better than United We Stand. I can see their Point of view but I prefer United We Stand.
5.Monster Reborn-Monster revival
4.Heavy Storm-Heavy Storm can backfire on you sometimes but then again it can help you most of the times. If you opponent has M/T cards on the field and you don't, activate Heavy Storm to destroy them, then set you cards.
3.Dark Hole-Same concept as Heavy Storm. When you have no monsters, nail this card on them.
2.United We Stand- United We Stand is better than Mage Power in my opinion, opposite of most people. Alot of you out there think that it's easier to power up monsters with Mage Power. You may be right, but with two face up monsters on the field that's already a 1600 bonus. The higest Mage Power can come up to is 2500. Also, I never lay all my M/T cards on the field incase a Heavy Storm or Harpy's Feather Duster played.
1.Raigkei/Harpy's Feather Duster-Two of the best cards out there. Raigeki destroys monsters and HFD destoys M/T.
Trap
10.Royal Command-Rids the worry of attacking flip effecy monsters like Cyber Jar.
9.Solemn Judgement-Great card,once your life points are low(maybe around 4000 or some)
8.Seven Tools of the Bandit-Used to negate traps for the cost of 1000 Lp which I think is well worth it. It could potentially negate Mirror Force or Imperial Order
7.Magic Jammer-As most people run more magic cards, I think Magic Jammer is more useful plus the fact that discarding cards is neccesarily bad.
6.Call of the Haunted-Personally, I prefer this over Premature Burial for the simple fact that you can activate it on you opponents turn. Otherwise, it's basically the same as Premature Burial.
5.Graverobber-I think this card is underrated. This mihgt be the fact that you have to pay 2000 Lp but I think its worth it to use their used Magic Cards.
4.Torrential Tribute-Most people refer it as Dark Hole trap version. I like this card way better. The reason is that you opponent can't attack you if you activate it.
3.Rope of Life-Not much to say about this card. Basically its a Monster Reborn with the Monster being powered up by 800.
2.Mirror Force-Negates the attack and destroys the attack mode monsters.
1.Imperial Order-Awesome card. It negates the effect of magic cards. You can activate it when your opponent plays Magic Cards and then not pay the Lp's and destroy it during your standby phase.
