10.) Exiled Force
This card is versatility personified. Able to drop and kill in one
turn, plus reborn and kill, plus huntable by both Witch and Sangan, AND his
beneficial Warrior sub-type, this guy's a menace to Yu-Gi-Oh! society
9.) Mystical Space Typhoon
That's right, only number nine. Come on, people, how many competitive
decks these days use more than five Traps? One Feather Duster and two
MST's will handle the job. Still, this thing deserves to be on the
list.
8.) Jinzo
Hold on, there. Listen up a sec. Jinzo's defeated
himself. I've got a friend who personifies the tournament scene these
days. He has three Traps in his deck (Order, Force, Call). As Jinzo
is just a sick Summoned Skull without his Trap jamming effect, he only gets
number eight. And you can go to heck.
7.) Harpie's feather Duster
Now I KNOW I'm going to get hate mail over this. Listen: if you're
out of monsters and desperatly need a defensive card, HFD is a bad, bad
draw. M/T removal is overrated, as ninety percent of all players don't use
more than five M/T removal-vulnerable cards anyways.
6.) Mirror Force
This thing hit the tournament scene like a ten-ton dump truck. It was
instantly THE card to get in Metal Raiders. However, today's
habit of playing more M/T removal cards than monster removal cards hurts Mirror
Force, making its user use it quickly, or lose it.
5.) Fiber Jar
My favorite new LoD card, Fiber Jar is an excellent card in any deck except
Depletion. In Beatdowns, it gives you a completely free attack, with no
chance of being blocked (unless the defending player is me and my
Kuriboh). In my beloved Burn decks, it returns all of Cannon Soldier's
Scapegoat ammunition to the deck for a second go-around. In Exodias,
it...doesn't help much, but still returns all your dead pieces to the deck, as
well as giving you a shot at the five-card-draw instant win. Ahhh, Fiber
Jar. Your versatility and power astound me.
4.) Imperial Order
This thing is simple. Jam a Magic card for free. Or is that the
extent of its power? NO! You can: shut down the opponent's Equip
cards mid-Equip, to give yourself a big, nasty attack that ther opponent didn't
think possible. You can disrupt a Swords, for another surprise
attack. You can shut down your own Messenger/Dark Door (if you play them),
and allow a bigarse surprise attack. Imperial Order is a great card, all
around. Put it in your deck.
3.) Yata-Garasu
Couldn't have a top ten without the Yataman, could I? Would have
liked to, though. This thing is as cheap as Exodia, as all you need to do
is strip the field to win the game. Nicking your opponent off 200 damage
at a time is a slow, painful, and sadistic way of winning, but a good one.
Yata's around for keeps, get used to him.
2.) Change of Heart
Absolute KILLER card. This thing gives you a 2 monster advantage, by
removing one of your opponent's, and giving you one. A serious game-winner
of a card.
1.) Raigeki
Do I need to say anything about Raigeki? No? Didn't think
so.
Thass it, folks. I know I left out some good stuff, and messed with
the usual ratings, but I bet you still had fun, even if it was having fun
picturing me over a pit of spikes.
