Subject: Deku Scrub's top 10
Exodia cards
Hey everyone, Deku Scrub here. Now with the CCG Strategy gone for a bit, I
decided to take a shot at the Top 10. But before I do that, I would like to say
something about Exodia. Believe it or not, besides the fact I primarily play
Exodia, I do have other decks as well. A dang good beatdown among them which has
won me a few tourneys, and some other various decks. Currently I have a great
Yata deck, without the Yata-Garasu... but anyways, enough with my petty
comments, on to the list.
*Exodia is not in the list obviously because it is required.
**This mostly applies to Defensive Exodia but applies to Offensive as well.
Also, some cards are needed with additional cards
10. Cyber Jar - Dangerous card if you do not have the head in your hand.
Otherwise, one of your best friends. Destroys your opponents monsters that pose
a threat and kill your Sangan/Witch to snag a few pieces. Plus, you get 5 more
monsters and/or magic or trap cards which will help you out even more. And even
if you summon a few pieces onto the field, merely Fiber Jar/ Backup Soldier them
back. Beware of Kycoo and other evil removal cards though.
9. Cannon Soldier - Fire off your Sangan/Witch and grab pieces quick, or
shoot off your used flip effect monsters, all while doing some damage to your
opponent. Keep him alive by playing Messenger of Peace. Best part is, he can
fire himself off.
8. Mirror Force - Preferred over Torrential Tribute (for me anyways). Cyber
Jar is my Torrential so I stock Mirror Force instead. Simply put, a dang good
card. Kills your opponents monsters. Yay. By far belongs in almost every deck
and easily the best trap in the game. If you are playing Offensive, clear shot
at life points next turn.
7. The Shallow Grave - Revive it all and the best part is, FACE DOWN!!!
Retrieve your Sangan, Witch, Magician, or a whole barrel of monkeys (ALL HAIL
BAZOO THE SOUL EATER, who is not in my Exodia deck.). Being able to revive good
cards like that is great and the face down makes it better. Who cares if your
opponent gets a card too, you are trying to win with Exodia, not a mass army of
monsters to fight your opponent with.
6. Imperial Order - Either a one turn Magic Jammer or an amazing magic
stopper. Simply put, no more M/T removal (there are no M/T traps that I can
think of), card destruction methods (except for some like Robbin Goblin, dang
you...) and other fun things to hurt you. That also goes for you as well
unfortunately, no drawing like mad with Graceful Charity, no revival methods,
and lots of other stuff.
5. Magician of Faith - Reuse those drawing cards and revival cards again.
This card is best run in multiples of 2. I found 3 pushes it a bit... yay for
Magician!
4. Backup Soldier/Painful Choice - 3 pieces to your hand, instantly. Best
method for this combo is to set Backup Soldier onto the field (run Backup
Soldier in multiples of 2) before you get Painful Choice. Do not play
Painful Choice unless you also have Backup Soldier (and preferably some kind of
counter method to make sure Backup Soldier is successful) on the field or in
your hand.
3. Graceful Charity, Pot of Greed, Jar of Greed, and Upstart Goblin
(drawing cards) - Sorry, I had to squish them all in. Graceful Charity is the
best of the drawing, allowing you to draw 3 and get rid of 2 you don’t need. Pot
of greed closely follows allowing you to draw 2 cards. Jar of Greed should be
ran in multiples of 3, allowing you to draw a card (It is the best when you use
Jar of Greed and win on your opponents turn) and Upstart Goblin is the worst of
the 3, draw a card and your opponent gets 1000 life (who cares though when you
are playing with Exodia). All of these are also good because they thin out your
deck.
2. Fiber Jar - Lose the head, bring it back. Starts the game fresh (minus
removed cards and LP) including a fresh hand. This is your big weapon if you are
being overwhelmed by big monsters, can't seem to find pieces, have a bad hand,
head in the graveyard. This is an amazing card and needs to be included in every
serious Exodia deck now that the game has changed so much with the release of
the new sets.
1. Sangan/Witch of the Black Forest - What can be better then to search out
a piece? Revive it over and over again for more fun. Kill them with Cyber Jar,
seek them with Mystical Tomato, the possibilities are endless. Would have been
better when Sangan was semi-limited (CURSE YOU KONAMI FOR LIMITING HIM, note:
Upper Deck just prints the cards, they don’t make up the limited list.) but oh
well...
Well that sure was fun, if you have any questions or want to trade me
Yata-Garasu or Fiber Jar (I got good stuff just waiting for ya!) e-mail me at
