Well, here would be my list.
10.Penguin Soldier
This card allows you to return two monsters on the field
to the owner's hand. This works well against strong monsters. Not only
that, you can use it to your benefit as well. You can return this card and
any other flip effect monsters to your hand so you can re-use their
effects. Every deck should have one in case of tough
situations.
9.Ceasefire
This card, though it may not be a staple in every deck,
is very useful. The fact that you can deal Life Point damage to your
opponent is nice, but its true beauty comes from its ability to stop flip
effect monsters, such as Penguin Soldier, Fiber Jar, Cyber Jar,
etc.
8.Goblin Attack Force
2300 attack for a 4 Star monster is the best I've
seen,(except for a Bazoo at full power). The fact that it goes into
defense mode is a good point and bad point at the same time. While the
Goblin A. Force can be destroyed easily, it also provides a defense in
case your opponent has something strong on the field. Staple for
beatdowns, no doubt about it.
7.Change of Heart
Staple for every deck, it has always been good since it
released in the Yugi Starter. Taking one of your opponent's monsters for
one turn can mean everything. Not only that, you can tribute the monster
you stole for an even stronger monsters, or use it on flip effect monsters
and make the effects your own.
6.Magic Cylinder
Staple no doubt, this secret rare allows you to negate
the attack of a monster and inflict Direct Damage equal to the attack of
the monster. I've seen duels decided by this card, espicially when your
opponent hastily and greedily places tons of equips on a card like Maha
Vailo or Hayabusa Knight. It will redirect that monster's attack right
back at him
5.Fiber Jar
A recent card that is excellent in the right situation.
This card will return everything to the decks except removed cards, so you
can start over again. This is great if you have used a good magic card
like Raigeki, but have already used up your Magician of Faith.
4.Pot of Greed
Unmatched in the dueling environment, this card simply
allows you to draw two cards. No drawbacks, and it is seldom that your
opponent will attempt to counter it. Belongs in every
deck.
3.Jinzo
Great monster card, it negates all traps. Although this
can backfire upon yourself, you can use this if you think your opponent
may try to counter with a Mirror Force. You may not think it, but this
card can win duels itself if you use it correctly.
2.Mirror Force
The grand poo-bah of traps, this card will destroy all
your opponents attack position monsters when he/she attempts to attack.
This really helps in situations where your opponent has a horde of
monsters, and he decides to finish you off by attacking them all.
1.Raigeki
Definite staple. This card can single handedly win a
duel. Destroying all of your opponent's monsters can stop several
strategies, some being Beatdown and Fire Princess decks. All the hard work
put into getting them out flushes down the toilet. If you don't have one,
get it. You will not regret having one.
