Subject: Ryan's Top 10 Chaos/Control-Hate
Cards
This list is intended for the
thousands of players out there who are having trouble dealing with the current
Chaos and Control deck builds. I don't recommend running all of these
cards since it will take up too much room in your deck but you should at least
consider some of them.
If you don't know what I'm talking
about, here's a quick description of the two decks I'm talking
about
Control - Disrupts the hand and
field of the opponent, attempting to ruin all attempts at strategizing a
counterattack, usually leading up to a
Yata-lock.
Chaos - Very similar to control but
tends not to run as much hand disruption, instead runs the chaos monsters (Chaos
Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the
Beginning, Dark Magician of Chaos). If built right, this is one of the strongest
and fastest decks available right now.
Kycoo the Ghost
Destroyer
This guy is just funny. He's a
level 4 1800 attaker - already decent, and once you summon him, your opponent
can't remove any monsters in order to summon a Chaos monster. Not being
limited or even semi-limited makes him easily one of the best cards against
Chaos.
Despair From The
Dark
This thing laughs at hand
disruption. It's a huge attacker (2800 i think, can't find it right now)
and not only does it get summoned when your opponent makes you discard it from
your hand, it works when it gets discarded from the deck too. This is the
perfect counter for Drop Off.
Fear From The
Dark
Same effect as Despair From The
Dark except this one is a little weaker (1700) but it's a level 4 so you can
normal summon it easily if you want. Being a control player myself, I hate both
of these cards with an unbridled passion.
Necrovalley
I'm sorry but this card is just
beautiful. Stand aside Kycoo. First of all, just like with Kycoo your opponent
can't summon Chaos monsters while it's on the field but it's also got a few
other advantages. For one, it's a field card, so it doesnt waste your summon for
the turn or your spell/trap card zones. That's not all either, several
other cards become dead weight while it's on the field...Witch of the Black
Forest, Sangan, Mystic Tomato, Shining Angel, Giant Germ, Nimble Momonga, the
other deck thinning monsters and probably some others
too.
Kuriboh
After your opponent detonates his
Chaos Emperor Dragon and happens to kill his Witch/Sangan and yours nothing is
gonna anger him more than grabbing a Kuriboh to stop his Yata-lock. This
funny looking furball has saved my friend from several Yata-locks in
the past.
Fiber
Jar
1000 life for Confiscation....1000
life for delinquent duo.....1000 life for Chaos Emperor Dragon's effect....reset
the game except for life points...Burn! If you can use this thing
effectively than your opponent will probably do most of the damage to themself,
until you can finish them with a strong attacker. If I think I'm winning at any
time, or if I'm going in for the kill and my opponent has 1 face down card, this
is the one and only thing I fear, and I fear it a
lot.
Nobleman of
Crossout
I love this card and I hate it. I
love it because it works so well, in ANY deck. Don't overlook it! I hate it
because it can screw me up real bad. It can get rid of a Fiber Jar or every
Magician of Faith in my deck for good.
D. D. Warrior
Lady
Few monsters can save you from just
about any situation...this is one of them. This is one of the best
Chaos-hate cards. It can remove the Dragon, or the Soldier, and make sure
they never come back for 1500 life points...definately not too much of a
price. It can also get rid of nuisances like Fiber Jar/Cyber Jar/Morphing
Jar/Jinzo
D. D.
Designator
Let's see....no life point
cost....get's rid of a card....let's you see your opponent's hand....removes the
card from the game....what more do you want? Even if you don't know what your
opponent is holding you can take a guess, see his/her hand and maybe get rid of
a card. If im holding a Designator and something like a Mystic Tomato I'll
gladly risk losing the Tomato to see my opponents hand and potentially remove a
game-winning card (Yata-Garasu, Chaos Emperor Dragon,
etc.)
Injection Fairy
Lily
Now I know what you're saying; "why
is fairy lily on this list, control of all decks can handle it"...but that's not
exactly true. Control doesnt play very many strong monsters, leaving Change of
Heart, Snatch Steal, Raigeki, and Dark Hole to deal with it....thats 4 cards out
of a 40+ card deck, and 2 of them wont work very well (Change of Heart and
Snatch Steal). Even if you take control of this it's going to cost you
2000 life points to do anything useful with it and any Control deck won't want
to pay that on top of all of their other card costs. This annoying fairy
can even sit in front of a Chaos Emperor Dragon and laugh at it. I watched
a practice game between 2 people at regionals and I couldn't believe how well I
saw this thing work. Player A: summon Chaos Emperor Dragon, attack, Player B:
Call of the Haunted Injection Fairy Lily, Player A: Call off the attack and
detonate the dragon. A level 2 (or 3?) monster forced the dragon to
detonate. It was rather amusing.
