Subject: Top Ten Water Monsters

Yo again! I’m back, and here are my top ten Water monsters! You can’t go wrong with these guys in your Water deck!

10) Suijin--One of the monsters that make Gate Guardian, now with A Legendary Ocean out, Suijin can surpass his other two brothers and kick monster butt as a Level 6 2700 ATK brute! Plus you still have his awesome Wakobu-like effect; too bad you can only use it once.

9) Mother Grizzly--Want to get that new Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 on the field in a hurry? Play Mother Grizzly. She searches for any Water monsters with about 1500 ATK known in the American Yu-Gi-Oh! environment, so she’s pretty much a staple for those Legendary Ocean/Gravity Bind decks.

8) Aqua Spirit--There is primarily two uses for Aqua Spirit. First, she can be used to pick off some early beatsticks with her effect, since most of those types of monsters have a really low DEF, and her 1600 ATK smashes through that perfectly. The second use? She’s a Special Summon, so you can just Tribute her for Suijin or the # 1 pick, depending on whether you have A Legendary Ocean in play.

7) Tribe Infectious Virus--Although Tribe Infectious Virus is good in any deck, it’s best in a Water deck, since it’s (duh) a Water monster. Just dump a card to the Graveyard, name a Monster Sub-Type and, poof, all the monsters of the declared Sub-Type are gone. Just be careful if you face off against another Water deck! Combos perfectly with the next card.

6) Sinister Serpent--Unless you don’t have one, this little fella should automatically be in your Water deck! It returns to your hand from the Graveyard during your Standby Phases, and makes great discarding material for #7. Plus, with A Legendary Ocean, its stats will improve marginally, as a 500/450 Reptile.

5) Amphibious Bugroth MK-3--While Umi, A Legendary Ocean, or # 2 is on the field, the Amphibious Bugroth can attack directly. It’s perfect with ALO and Gravity Bind, so you can stick it to your opponent with constant 1700 ATK bursts. I’d rather prefer a difference approach and choose # 2, since the new Salvage Spell Card can get both of these from the Graveyard and return them to my hand.

4) Gagagigo--Gagagigo is the third strongest Level 4 Water monster currently available (Granadora as the second and #3 the strongest). Becoming a 2050 Level 3 via ALO, it’s almost unstoppable, disregarding those darned 2000 ATK+ Level 4s that everyone loves so much.

3) Giga Gagagigo--Now you say, “Why is Giga Gagagigo the strongest Level 4 Water monster? He’s a Level 5!” Not with ALO. With ALO on the field, he’s a romping, stomping, 2650 ATK juggernaut! Jinzo? GG laughs at his shiny metallic coat. Dark Ruler Hades? GG eats him for breakfast. Of course, Injection Fairy Lilly (and a few 2700 ATK+ dudes) will smack him around, but still, he’s one bad mutha...shut yo mouth!

2) Maiden of the Aqua--She doesn’t power up your other Water monsters, but you can still use Tornado Wall, another staple in a Water deck. She also lets you use Amphibious Bugroth’s effect without increasing the ATK of your opponent’s Water monsters, making her even more useful than when she first came out in Pharaonic Guardian. Besides, if she is destroyed in battle, she is easily retrieved with the Salvage Spell Card in Invasion of Chaos, since she has only 700 ATK.

1) Leviadragon Daedalus--Who else would be #1, but the Leviadragon, Daedalus? He clears out all threats to your Life Points by discarding ALO to the Graveyard, giving you a free 2600 ATK shot. He’s also a one-tribute with ALO, too! Get one ASAP!
