 Ian's Top 10 FIRE monsters and enhancers

 

Well, I personally think this is the most underused and underappreciated type next to WIND(whom, although I don't see too many decks of are bountiful in numbers). However, I've find out how to make a FIRE deck with some mad speed and power. Also, as much as I'd like to place Horus Dragon in here I'm trying to keep this more in our general area. So, here are your top 10.

 

10. Little Chimera. Incase you've forgotten this was a pretty useless monster from Metal Raiders(normal rare, MRD-117)  whom powered up all FIRE monsters(yes, including him) by 500. At the time the only noteworthy FIRE mons were Flame Cerebrus and Launcher Spider, but now this card's been given a boost with UFO Turtle, Molten Destruction and just more mons to power up. Not exactly the best asset in a FIRE deck but helps when Molten Destruction is gone.

 

9. Inferno. While his burner effect is nice his Defense is what makes him good, but with Molten Destruction it becomes pretty messy, unless Little Chimera is in play too. It isn't too hard to destroy, well, face-down monsters with his effect, but 500 doesn't help out too much. Nonetheless, since he's a special summon mon you can tribute him.

 

8. UFO Turtle. This is fun to play if you either summon Little Chimera, or my favorite: Solar Flare Dragon. Use this for Solar Flare, summon another SFD for a nice little Solar-Lock. The good thing is his already low defense gets lowered with Molten Destruction so it's easier to get him killed for another monster to be summoned with a boosted ATK.

 

7. Spirit of Flames. Well, it's only obvious the above mons are Sanganable while two are Witchable, but I didn't point that out because it's really only noteworthy for more powerful mons, or ones with too many cons. Anyways, 1700 is a little above mediocre, but with Molten or Chimera it's 2200. Plus, unlike Spirit of Earth it's on YOUR battle phase meaning you pretty much control his ATK. The good thing about that is you don't have to attack, just enter and end your Battle Phase. Also, removing 1 FIRE in a FIRE deck like I have(if you want a copy just ask) is easy.

 

6. Molten Zombie. Well, he's not exactly the most special thing as, just like Card of Safe Return, it has to be special-summoned from the Grave. Well, although that's not exactly easy to do I've actually managed to both Reborn and Premature him. Plus, 2100 ATK with Molten or Chimera is nothing to scoff at.

 

5. Solar Flare Dragon. My Favorite of all Pyros and FIRE mons. Here's what I recommend doing with him. All it requires is UFO Turtle and him in your hand(preferably Molten Destruction). Have UFO killed, bring out a Solar Flare(Molten for +500 ATK which helps prevent an attack, likely), then on the next turn summon another Solar Flare for both an attack lock and -1000 from your opponent each of your end phases.

 

4. Blazing Inpachi. I absolutely love this mon. There's almost never been a duel where I didn't summon him with 2350 ATK. He's Witchable, which makes him all the better, and I bet when your "The Thing in the Crater" is destroyed your opponent will never see it coming when you special summon a 2350 4-star mon! Seriously, this burning Mokujin-lookalike is not one to be taken lightly.

 

3. Molten Destruction. It would likely deserve number 1, except it's terrible top-deck, easy MST bait, and lowers FIRE mons DEF. However, other than the easy-killable Little Chimera this is the true power maker in a FIRE deck, and it's advised to run 3 for obvious reasons. This helps mons get their true boosts(Blazing can now kill Manticore, Swift Gaia, Vampire, Goblins, Orc, etc, Solar Flare kills all 1900 ATKers and can suicide Berserk Gorilla).

 

2. Mr. Volcano. Yes, you are reading this correctly; the common from Pharaoh's Servant who truly had no place in anyone's decks, ever. Until now, that is. Molten Destruction truly is the heart and soul of a FIRE deck, and as if you couldn't see this coming, a 1-trib 2600 mon is just broken. Sure, no effect isn't good, but you should have enough MT removal in your deck. Oh yeah, he's WITCHABLE! Bring him to your hand and you've got a burning destructor on the way!

 

Now, if Molten Destruction, the heart and soul wasn't #1, what is? Simple; the heart & soul of SUMMONING! The speed master himself:

 

1. The Thing in the Crater. I've found him to be the most useful card in the deck. Notice it says ANY Pyro from your hand, meaning a tribute-less Mr. Volcano, or just speed. His low stats make him searchable by all means and make him easier to be killed, meaning easier to get another mon out. Run a FIRE deck and you'll see although Molten Destruction does the power Crater does the summoning.
