Jon's top 10 yugioh list--top 10
monsters
10) breaker the magical
warrior--this card's base stats are 1600/1000, but as soon as it's summoned, it
gains one spell counter, which ups it's attack 300, making it a 1900
attacker. also, you can destroy that spell counter to use it as a
"MST".
9) slate warrior--this card just
edged out breaker for ninth because of it's effect. it's base stats are
1900/400, but if it's placed face down and then flipped over, it gains 500 atk
and def points, making it 2400/900. also, any monster that destroys it,
loses 500 atk and def points.
8) dark paladin--i think this
card's popularity helped it get 8 a little. it does have a built in magic
jammer and has buster blader's effect with stats of 2900/2500 (i think it's 25
def), but it's a fusion, making it more difficult to get out most of the
time.
7) great maju garzett--this
monster is incredible. it's base stats are 0/0, but as soon as it's
summoned, it gets the attack of the monster offered for it times two! ie:
you offer a gemini elf for it--it has 3800 atk and it was only 1
tribute!
6) black luster soldier-envoy
of the beginning--this card is one of the coolest cards that's ever come out and
it's good too! it has 3000/2500 and is summoned to the field simply by
removing one dark monster and one light monster in your graveyard from play,
which keeps you from clearing out your side of the field for it. it
also has two effects. 1-if you destroy an opponents monster, you can
attack once again during this battle phase. 2-you can remove one monster
on the field from play, if you do so, you can't attack w/ this card this
turn. you can only pick one effect per turn, but they're both
good.
5) chaos emperor dragon-envoy
of the end--this card is the equally awesome and cool brother of BLS-eotb.
it also has 3000/2500 and is summoned in the same way. it's effect is that
it can destroy all cards on the field and in both players hand to inflict 300
points of LP damage to your opponent for every card destroyed, but you do have
to pay 1000 of your LP to activate the effect, but hey, talk about
potential!
4) exodia necross--this card
barely edged out the two above simply on the fact that it virtually can't be
destroyed. it gains another 500 atk points every one of your SPs (it
starts w/ 1800 atk). however, it is destroyed right away if even one piece
of exodia is not in the graveyard.
3) vampire lord--this card is
really cool, really cool, and oh, did i say really cool. other than that,
it's really good as well and overall rare and valuable. it is one trib,
2000/1500. doesn't sound that impressive, yet. it's first effect is
that if it inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you pick either magic, trap,
or monster and your opponent discards one of that type from their deck. to
put it's second effect into perspective, all you have to say is, this bugger
just keeps coming back. he can't be completely destroyed unless it's by a
monster with a higher attack.
2) yata garasu--this card is
also very cool and good. if you saw it in a display case you'd say "what's
up with this dumb bird that has 200/100 as it's stats, why's it a secret rare,
and why in the world does it cost $45?" well, it only does have 200/100,
but everyone knows what "yata-lock" is and that's why it's the #2 monster card
there is.
1) jinzo--this card was the
best when it came out and still is and in my opinion, probably always will
be. it has 2400/1500 one trib. this means it's a strong one trib
monster and is searchable by the WOTBF. once out, it negates all trap
cards, thus meaning, no fear to attack! what more could you want out of a
one trib monster. oh yea, it's a very valuable secret rare too! oh
yea, and it's my favorite card and it's completely
awesome!
honorable mention--dark necrofear,
injection fairy lily, tyrant dragon, cyber jar, skilled dark magician, tribe
infecting virus, barrel dragon, buster blader, don zaloog, guardian
sphinx
it's own special category honorable
mention because it's made of five monsters put
together--exodia
