To Play Like a
Champion-Champion Yami
Malik
Hello, I"m Yami Malik.
You may have seen me in the chat room as Yami Malik or Champion Yami Malik or
faced me in appentice. I've seen a lot of duelist play against each other and
have seen there decks. Everyone has one flaw when it comes to playing Yu-gi-Oh,
even me, such as what they put in their deck or how they miss stategies ( me),
but I have finally found a way to become a champion duelist in a
tournament using enlish cards! Five rants on what players make
mistakes on from ten to one.
10) Card
Mechinics
What in the world are you talkin'
about mister? For those who are out of towners in card games, it's the parts of
a card (example: atk, def, sub type, etc.). Anyway, this doessn't effect monster
cards for now, but it does with magic and traps. How you ask? Well, those pretty
symbols like these...
(Equipment Magic) - The weapons of
monsters as I like to call them. These cards aren't that much worth
it depending on what you deck is based on. If it was beatdown, slap these
card in your deck and have a fun time slaughtering monster and your opponents.
Fusion decks is different cause mainly your searching your deck for cards
you can fuse with to finish off your opponent. In addition, your filling up your
magic/trap zone, so it could be a waste of space for more important cards. In
conculsion, think before you slash if it's needed or not. Usefulness: depends on
your deck...
(Field Magic) - Choose
the battlefield of the final showdown. It's like the
equipment magic, so you probably know what to expect. One of the better things
about these cards compared to the equipment magic is that it doesn't fill up the
magic/ trap zone, but power ups both players monsters or effects them.
Usefulness: your joking right.
(Perminant Magic) - The magic
that never stops, Final Fantasy. I don't know why I said that,
I was just thinking of playing Final Fantasy. These magic cards stay in play
until destroyed. That means, there effects will be there until the card says so,
or your oppnent destroys it. I've noticed something, these types of cards are
never perminant, well, most of them. They usually have a limit, like Swords of
Revealing Light, which last for three turns. Put, like perminant trap cards,
they stay on the field until they're destroyed. Not much comment on these
things since I haven't seen a perminant magic yet.
Usefulness: how can tell if there are no
english perminent magic yet
(Counter Magic) - You
punch, I counter by tossing you off the ground! Mainly
counters against anything your oppnent throws at you. This is one of the must in
your deck when your in a deep situtation. This could save the day for you.
However, your whole deck shouldn't be filled with these since your going for a
fast win or want your stategy to work.
Usefulness: A need for decks, but
don't put too many of these cards in that deck.
(Perminent Trap) - I'm trapped in
here forever! This was introduced in the Yugi starter set. Everyone
liked the idea of Dragon Capture Jar, a big word for anti Blue Eyes. Like
perminent magic, they stay on the field for a long time. The more useful cards
like Robbin Goblin however were introduced to be favorites among us. Be careful
they, these are the cards that take up the most space. Uesfullness: Above
average, as long as there not all over the place
(Counter Trap) -Move up two steps
to go boom. Metal Raiders love these cards. Solemn Judgement, Magic
Jammer, and Seven Tools of Bandit are to watch out for. These cards have the
same ablities as counter magic cards, but they take up more space on the magic/
trap zone. Usefullness: High, very high.
9) Know the Game
Hey,
mister, I already know how to play Yu-gi-Oh. Do you? If you don't know what he
card does or the ruling is, the opponent might use it to their adavantage and
cheat. Try to figure out the ruling to the card of your tournament official or
"useful" websites, like Pojo.
8)Your
Deck
What's wrong with my deck? You got a problem with it? It could be better. Test
it on your friends and see what your deck is doing wrong. No drawing power, no
way to counter magic or traps, etc. Ask your friends if they see any
problems, or submit it to a deck garage. Every deck has a flaw, mainly, you
should only fix the big flaws, like too many magic and traps, that's what I did
a lot.
7) Your
Opponent
If you face the same opponent over
and over agin, you should know how difficult they could be to fight. This may
tell you what they could be planning next from their face expressions or
the way they act.
1)
You
What do you mean? Many times, even
the most experinced player can miss their chance to gain the win. Reasons
why? Hey, stop watching that girl/ guy, or, this isn't nap time, it's a
duel! Sometimes, you lose focus over nothing, or just well, your own
world.
Asleep are you? Well, wake up cause I'm done. Any comments or
questions, call me at
Malik: The wrath of Ra is coming for
you.
