A new type of deck-Post-ban Control-Anteaus
Okay, I know it sounds weird, but I'm telling you, this deck can be good.

With all the "Control" cards being banned, it's going to wreck the Control deck now, right? Wrong. It'll wreck (obliterate, more like) the Yata-based Control deck that is currently running rampant. But, have no fear, for the NEW Control is here!

Yes, the new Control deck. Not Hand-Control, but Field Control. For those of you who have read my past articles, you'd know that by Field Control I mean "Beatdown." No, this is a different kind of FIeld Control. Beatdown relies on mostly strong monsters to wipe out the enemy. But Field-Control decks are based on screwing with your opponent and stalling until you get your good monsters out. Here's some clarification:

Monster Cards:

Gemini Elf: Your basic 1900 ATK monster, right? Well, she can also provide a good defense against any raging Kycoos or lone Solar Flare Dragons.

Spirit Reaper: Awesome effect. He's the perfect stall card.

Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer: Expect this card to make a comeback. His effect will make sure that Black Luster Soldier stays in their hand; besides, he a good 1800 ATK monster.

2x Maruading Captain: This can be done either of two ways: either you get a Captain/another Warrior, and toss a good powerup/stall M/T, or you simply summon both Captains at the same time. This card is still good for stall.

Fiber Jar: Must I explain?

Cyber Jar: This can be both good and bad. Good, because you can replenish your hand, but bad, because you might not draw any monsters.

Kuriboh: Good card, but bad for hand advantage, which is still crucial in the game today.

*Quick note: The Post-Ban Control Deck also requires hand-disruption. A good balance between the two is best, because your opponent can't summon a monster if they don't have a hand, now can they?

Magic cards:

Book of Moon: Drop it face-down, then watch the look on your opponent's face when you spring a Book of Moon on their Jinzo, then Waboku!

Nobleman of Crossout: Can't do it on your opponent's turn, so I guess it's not "technically" stall, but it's still good with Nobleman of Crossout.

Trap cards:

Waboku: Ultimate trap stall. Needs no further explanation.

Ring of Destruction: Good card, best with Barrel Behind the Door. But still, wipe out a monster and LP. Not bad.

See, there's some good stall cards in the aforementioned cards. But that's not all you need. Cards like Creature Swap and Magic Drain help for field/hand control. That's what this deck is: it's a balance between the two elements of Control/Beatdown. Think of it as a Beatdown/Control deck: a Beatrol deck, so to speak. They blend together. Removal is also good, so a more appropriate name like the Removal/Beatdown/Control deck. I dunno, I write the article, you come up with the flashy name.

Anyway, this deck can be killer with the right cards. Here's a sample deck:

Monsters (19):

1x Jinzo
1x Exiled Force
2x D.D. Warrior Lady
2x Gemini Elf
2x Spirit Reaper
2x Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
2x Don Zaloog
1x Fiber Jar
1x Cyber Jar
2x Maruading Captain
1x Tribe-Infecting Virus
1x Sinister Serpent
1x Exiled Force

Magic (14):

2x Creature Swap
2x Book of Moon
2x Nobleman of Crossout
1x Heavy Storm
1x Change of Heart
1x Snatch Steal
1x Swords of Revealing Light
1x Premature Burial
1x Pot of Greed
1x Painful Choice
1x Mystical Space Typhoon

Trap (11):

3x Drop Off
3x Waboku
1x Ring of Destruction
2x Magic Drain
1x Call of the Haunted
1x Ceasefire

Total: 44

As you may have noticed, I did not include The Forceful Sentry and Confiscation. The reason is is that they take up space. True, they do disrupt the hand, but with 3x Drop off and 2x Don Zaloog, it won't be that hard.

This deck is merely a guideline. There are many cards that I believe should be included, but I am way too tired (it's 2:30 a.m.) to list them all at the moment. Torrential Tribute is one, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Goblin Attack Force, Spear Dragon...the list is endless. Feel free to e-mail me a more adequate deck @ Anteaus44@aol.com. Feel free to respond..hell, send hate-mail if you have it, you loser. Oh well, thank you all for joining us in another exciting episode of "Anteaus' great Awakening!" (I know, kick-ass title, huh?)

Cheers,
Anteaus
