Hey, what's up! Here's Nick, and I'm going to talk about something smart today. A long while back, I wrote about how everyone was doing beatdown wrong. This is not about that. This is about how everyone could do exodia so good that they'd always win, this is so powerful. Mind you, I have serious concessions about Exodia. First off, to pull off Exodia costs so much money it is stupid. I currently own 0 exodia peices. Whenever I get one in a pack (and I've only gotten 2 ever, both right arms) I immeadietly trade them to little kids for Barrel Dragons or other useful things. The only people you will see playing Exodia are the greasy people you will see at Tournaments who devote half of their paychecks to buying Yu-Gi-Oh cards, or rich snobs. So... I'm insulting the only people who will be reading this. d*mn. Anyway, for the common croud, Exodia is out of the picture. But, just for a shot, I decided to work on a stratagy which, if done right, IS THE MOST POWERFUL DECK IN EXISTANCE. There, I said it. While it's true that exodia falls to discard decks, who really plays discard anyway? Anyway, on to the stradagies that can make Exodia INSANE.
BASICS. You will of course have all the little basics that everyone has in Exodia decks. For one, the Exodia peices. Kinda need those. WOTBF and Sangan as well. Pot of Greed. Painful Choice. Backup Soldier. Magician of Faith. Big Eye. Of course, all of these cards are vital, now, to make it better.
SICK DRAW POWER. Appropriate. This card is the sickest drawing engine in the game. There are all these cards that can give you massive drawing when this is in play. For one, card destruction. Obliterate their hand, and draw massively. Say you have 3 cards in your hand and an appropriate and they have 4 cards in their hand. You play card destruction. Not only do they have their hand obliterated, but you draw... lets see... 11 cards. That might give you all the exodia peices you need in one batch. Speaking of Drawing 11 cards at once, what of the ever popular SOLEMN WISHES. If you pulled that off, you could easily gain 5500 life IN ONE TURN. And that is just with one in play. Also, Bistro Butcher. Who cares if they draw 2 cards? You draw 4. Finally, there is Hiro's Shadow Scout. Even if they discard all three of the cards they draw because they are magic cards, you still draw 6. And guess what the best part is? Appropriate, unlike pot of greed, card destruction or any other decent draw card, is NOT RESTRICTED. You can have 3 in your deck. More then that, if you don't have it in your hand, you can get it out by a combination of Magical Hats and Mask of Darkness. In fact, you can get any magic card in your deck by a combination of magical hats and either MOF or MOD. And it thins the deck, incresing your chance of Exodia. Nice.
Monsters. Exodia decks can fall before beatdown with Robbin' Goblins. This is not a good thing. Like it or not, you need defense monsters out. For one, Wall of Illusions. This is the best defensive monster in the game. Even when we get Big Sheild Gardna (300/2600 Level 4) Wall of Illusions will still be the best defense monster. It is Defense combined with removal in a nice, neat little package. Also, The Unhappy Maiden is a useful stall as well. A wabaku with no way to counter it. Other fun Monsters to play? Labrynth Wall is Always fun with a Ring of Magnetism put on it (and yes, I admit it, I got that idea from, of all places, the TELEVISION SHOW. That is one of the few combos on TV that work as well in real life as in the show). If you are a gambler, try out Time Wizard or Barrel Dragon in an Exodia deck (Not at the Same time, though). Also, put in the Feind MegaCyber. In this type of deck you will almost always be able to play it for free.
FUN THINGS. Tech in the Graverobber against other Exodia decks. Being able to use their own Painful Choice/Backup Soldier can be deadly. And what do you care about lifepoints anyway? Michizure is also good, make them pay for any monster they kill. Also, of course, there is gravity bind. It's not like you are going to attack anyway - Why not?
PUTTING IT TOGETHER. When you play Exodia, there is a ceartain order in which you play things. First order of business is setting up defenses. Gravity Bind is preferable, or Wall of Illusions/Feind MegaCyber. Next, play Appropriate, using Magical Hats and Mask of Darkness if nessacary. Once that is out, it is just a waiting game to get exodia. Use every drawing engine in existance. Card Destruction, Pot of Greed, and any other combo using Appropraite to draw your deck dry. Also use WOTBF and Sangan to get Exodia peices, and use Killer Tomato to get them out. For the love of god, get the painful choice+backup soldier combo as well, and use Magical Hats/MOF or MOD to get the cards back so you can use them again. That's my view on exodia - whether you like it or not, IT WORKS. My e-mail is walsharch@msn.com and yes, I do still reply to everything, even if I get 15 e-mails (After I annitially got 9 e-mails on my zombie deck, I got dozens every day for it)
