These are some things that have been very shocking to me, and several others, I think.

1. That Torrential Tribute isn't restricted. This is a lot like dark hole, but it isn't even restricted to 2, let alone 1.

2. That not many people played Dark Paladin decks. Sure, they're not as good as XYZ or Magical Scientist deck, but they were EXTREMELY popular in Japan when they were first released You don't even see n00bs playing them. (Not that it's a n00b deck.)

3. That not many people played Archfiend decks. This was a huge surprise to me, since there are several first turn wins can be acquired by using Falling Down, Painful Choice, Terrorking, etc. My cousin used one, and he pulled off some powerful moves. One of the only reasons I could think of is that many people hate beatdowns, and an Archfiend deck resembles one.
