 Barrel Behind the Door Revelation: Read Please! ~~FairyQueen
FairyQueen here, a Duelist League Leader. I've been reading the tips you all have been sending in recently, and I have to break some bad news to you all: You cannot Barrel Behind the Door Lifepoint costs!!!!
 
It pains me to have to make a ruling like this, but:
 
Barrel Behind the Door states: "When an effect that inflicts damage to Lifepoints is activated (except Battle Damage), switch the damage you receive to your opponent's Lifepoints"
 
Whenever you pay lifepoints for a card, like Wall of Revealing Light or Solemn Judgement, this is not an effect that causes damage. It is a cost of the card. You cannot play Barrel Behind the Door because it is not effect damage. It is a lifepoint payment. It is the same reason why you still have to choose to pay for Imperial Order when Jinzo is on the field. It is a cost of upkeep for the card, not an effect, so Jinzo doesn't negate it.
 
So all those cool card combos and burner decks that you've been sending in that use Barrel Behind the Door with Wall of Revealing Light for a one-hit kill, or Barrel and Solemn Judgement, or even Barrel and the new card Return from a Different Dimension: the combo doesn't work.
