Yu-Gi-Oh! For
Starters.

So ya want to start Yu-Gi-Oh huh?
Good choice. Here are some tips:
First things first. You need to
get some cards. I suggest purchasing an original starter deck (Joey or Pegasus)
but not the new evolution kind. Those are a little bit advanced for right now
right
now.
The decks are important because
with the decks you receive rules and a deck.
As most Yu-Gi-Oh advanced
duelists know, you dont want to get ripped off and pay more money than you
should. Stores pay their rent and make their stores look nice because theyre
making a pretty big profit off people who dont know what theyre doing. Try to
spend in the range of 7 to 9 dollars for the deck. Ebay is strongly suggested.
Also try to fish around on legitimate websites that you know you can trust such
as eBay, Amazon, Toys R Us, and other big named
companies.
Now that youve got your deck
youll want some big cards. Never purchase
boosters packs! because the odds are not in your favor and its
exactly the same thing as gambling you may win sometimes but the house (or upper
deck) always wins. Here are the odds (as provided):
Rare: 1 in
1
Super Rare: 1 in
6
Ultra Rare: 1 in
12
Secret Rare: 1 in
48
Heres the
problem:
The typical rare costs less than
$3 but the pack costs $4
If you purchase 6 packs and get a
super rare and some lousy rares well you get my
drift.
Purchase single cards for less
money. To search for a Secret Rare you need to spend and upwards of $200 but
typically for one by eBays single cards it would cost about $30 to
$50.
With the Joey or Pegasus deck
youll need some heavy bang-ers. I would go to eBay to buy the staples (Raigeki,
Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity [if you dont have it yet], Harpies Feather
Duster, and the two that you have: Dark Hole and Monster Reborn). This should
set you back about $18. If youre smart this is the least youll have to pay for
awhile. From here on you would want to seek another Pojo writer and ask for the
names of other good cards.
Now that you have some decent
cards you probably want to start watching the show. Go to your local Blockbuster
or other movie rental shop and rent the first 2 DVDs and play them. You would
watch all 6 episodes on their and get a feel for not only the show, the game. I
must alert you however, The game is different from the show so be careful. The
show is on everyday on your local WB station at:
4:30 PM
ET
3:30 PM
CT
3:30 PM
MT
4:30 PM
PT
(In
The show is also on Saturdays at
11:00 AM ET.
Now that youre set for now
