Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie Review
What's up to all of those Yu-Gi-Oh! fans and all of my trusty Shadowholics?  In case you haven't noticed, yes this is Matthew "The Shadow" Sita from the Tourney Reports.  I've decided to take a little break from the whole tourney writing business for about a month and now, I feel like doing a review on the new movie, Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie which I just saw on August, Friday the 13th.  Here's what happened:

It was around 11:50 am when I went into The Shadow's "home," Springfield Mall, when I decided that I should see the new movie.  As soon as I went up the escalator, there was already a long line for the movie.  There were people that I knew from the past that wouldn't let me cut, but I won't say any names (coughNathencough, coughSamcough, coughTylercough).  Anyway, around 12:20 pm, I was able to FINALLY get my movie ticket, and along with it, a gold "booster pack."  Unfortunately, there was only 1 card in there, but it was Blue Eyes Shining Dragon.  Once I went inside, I sat down around the near front area.  The previews were very boring, and I can see that Hollywood is running out of fresh ideas (especially if one of the movies is known to have talking babies that sound like adults).  After the previews, the feature presentation finally came.  It all started with the whole Shadow Games entrance where by the sound of it, Yami, is talking about the great evil and how the Pharaoh was able to seal up the monsters, etc.  After that, it showed how Yugi was able to solve the Millennium Puzzle, and after he solved it, all of a sudden a whole bunch of Duel Monsters came out of nowhere (even a VERY twisted Kuriboh that actually had a mouth), and then Yami came out to banish the monsters.  After that, the movie started about how Yugi has been World Champion for 3 years (don't ask me how) and now every duelist in Domino City is now after Yugi since now he has all 3 God cards (this was made AFTER Battle City).  After that, Joey decided to bodyguard Yugi and anyone that was able to beat Joey can face Yugi.  The first duel was probably one of the funniest duels EVER, for it only showed the one turn.  This one person who looks like he could be from the mafia summons Injection Fairy Lily and for the first time (maybe I'm wrong), Injection actually talked, but it was a little disturbing.  Joey didn't even get a chance to have his turn then all of a sudden, Injection chases him around and then Lily sticks that giant needle she has and pokes Joey in the rear.  I'm no physical expert, but after a shot like THAT, I would be smarting for a couple of...months.  Anyway, that's just a small taste of the movie.  By the way, Pegasus DOES come back and he STILL has his Toon deck, but now he has both Toon Gemini Elf AND Toon Dark Magician Girl (both of them being from the Japanese artwork).  Overall, out of a 5 Star Ranking, 0 being as Comic Book Guy would say "Worst Movie EVER!" and a 5 being you better see this or else my shadow minions will hurt you, I'd give this movie 4 Stars.  It is a very good movie, but just let the people who know about the game watch it.  If you want to contact me, my E-Mail is SpedyMatt@aol.com and my IM is SpedyMatt.  Until next time, don't forget: "When there's Light, there's The Shadow."  See Ya!
