Best Deck Strategy... Speed
- Black Kitsune
O.o Wow there are a lot of people
here with barely any typing/literacy skills... I'm surprised they're able to
read cards... but ah well...
Onto
the topic...
I've only been playing
for a few months... I don't go and spend thousands of dollars on new
cards/boosters everyday just for the looks and jazz... What I have is what I
have. And I've noticed something...
Speed Kills.
When I started
with Joey's starter deck, I played with all 50 of those cards, and was getting
beat by my brothers badly. My brothers are the kind of people who play this game
for the fad, so you can see my frustration. I got into the game because I took
an interest in it (and I saw it was made by Konami, my favorite game publisher
^^ ) so I got into it. Now, my deck is down to 40 cards with tons of speed type
cards to zing through my deck to get cards I want on any circumstance. These are
the cards that everyone has at least one of... and will use them... Here's a
list:
Pot Of Greed
Graceful
Charity
Time Seal
First off, I
will say that if you use Jar of Greed instead of Time Seal then it's wasted.
Take this example: I have no cards in my hand, and nothing on the field because
you beat it all down with Raigeki and Harpie's Feather Duster... Before your
turn ends, if you use a Time Seal, I get screwed over and you still draw a card
on your next turn. Besides... the card you draw from Jar of Greed can't be
played anyway so what would be the point?
The next thing that helps speed is it's alternate, stopping. Stopping
your opponent that is. Try these out.
Time Seal (again)
Swords Of Revealing Light
Magic Jammer
Trap
Jammer
Waboku
Michizure
Stopping doesn't always have to stop your opponents from moving... but it
can also stop their plans.
I also use a lot of Revival. Premature Burial and
Monster Reborn are pretty much standard in any good deck. All you need to do for
some quick power is use Magic Jammer and discard a Blue Eyes White Dragon from
your hand... then on your turn if you have a Premature Burial or Monster Reborn
then the field is pretty much yours.
Also... here is something you should consider if you use lots of cards
that are restricted. Magician of Faith. I have 3 in my deck, so It's like using
a 1 turn delayed Swords of Revealing Light or Monster Reborn. Or, if I need more
cards, Pot of Greed or anything! I can zip through my deck to pull out my
powerful monsters to own your life points and it all begins with those beauties.
I don't even have that many powerful monsters in my deck, because it's 40 cards,
which just helps out my speed.
Unless your opponent has some really good defense cards early on, Speed
is the best weapon you can use, and is invaluble against Exodia
decks.
