Getting the best of the Trade Market Version.2-Camex

Heres the Article I promised in my past article "Number 1 Trade Destroyer...Card Condition-Camex" posted July 8th by Pojo.com. Well since I've written the last article on trading I've become more experienced with the art of trading itself and heres what I have to report...

Most players of Yugioh TCG can be classified into one of the following  groups;

1. Need it now.  A need it now is someone who would trade you a card that you have if they need it right at the time you are trading it. This can be because they never heard of it and you've convinced them its a great card or they are trying to get it for meta-game purposes. The most recent example has to be when Invasion of Chaos came out and everyone who went Meta-game at tournament NEEDED a Envoy of the Begining and/or a Envoy of the End. When the cards were first released, competitive duelist needed 3 of each as fast as possible, so they would give up large sums of money and/or a ridiculous number of cards for them. As a trader, you can take advantage of meta-game players this way and aquire mass number of cards or cash.

2.Collector. A collector is somebody who aquires as much as possible of a particular field.  The most general Yugioh collector tries to collect entire sets.This is done usually to then sell the cards on E-Bay, hold on to them for the future or even just keep as bragging rights. In any case, they are another group of traders you can work alot of money and/or cards from. In order to do this however, you need cards that may be alitttle rarer even if they aren't that great. A perfect example was when I witnessed a trade at the Yugioh World Championship 2003 where someone attempting to complete the set, traded a Don Zaloog for a Blue Medicine. This may be inspiration enough for you to carry some of those short print, rare and "crap holos" you wouldn't necessarily think of having on hand.

3. The Ignorant Duelist. The Ignorant duelist (sometimes considered to only be "little kids") is perhaps the best party you can make a amazing trade with. I keep myself from calling this part of the article "Little Kids" because I know alot of kids that are smarter than alot of adults out there in the game. This classification of potential trader sometimes has amazing cards in his deck that he is willing to part with perhaps becuase he dosen't know what he has.  Ocasionally, you are able to trade the Ignorant Duelist a Starter Deck card like a Blue-Eyes or a Dark Magician (just make sure the Dark Magician isn't DDS). Also, if you duel the Ignorant Duelist, you may convince them that they want a card simply because you destroy them with it. Example, a scientist deck may want to carry extra Magical Scientist copies in order to trade after using the first turn K-O.

4. The Skilled Duelist. The Skilled Duelist is a Duelist that knows the game. He knows what his cards are worth and what he should try and trade for. He has his own agenda and is out to get a deal himself. He is the Duelist who may be targeting one of the above mentioned duelist in order to get a amazing deal. There is a benefit however to trading a Skilled Duelist, they are the ones who usually take better care of their cards so you are very likely to get a nice condition, older card from them. The Skilled Duelist can usually be found at a major tournament or area where he believe he may find one of the above mentioned 3 Duelist.

In short, try and diversify the cards you have on hand for trade. Something old, something new,  something  cool and something liked by you. Seriously though, try and carry some of thhose cards you may not have considered takig with you. Someone may need that starter deck Kuriboh after all, you just never know.

Sorry for every instance where I used he/ his without adding her/ hers. I am an advocate of women definetly.
