Shiny Cardboard - Shuriken
Hey guys,
Shuriken back again, here for another article on my favorite site, Pojo. This
time though, instead of talking about originality (thanks to everyone who agreed
with me), I'm going to go completely into another topic. I got so many replies
on my little talks about stealing, so I thought I would talk about it for a
whole article. So welcome to Shuriken's Guide to Catching Card
Criminals!!! I hope it helps ^^
1. Make sure something is
confirmed stolen before going into
investigation.
I cannot stress
this enough, you can't investigate and try to convict people of theft until the
cards are confirmed stolen. This can be easily done by first asking everyone if
they have seen the cards, Then if no one has seen them, make sure the person who
has lost cards is 100% sue they didn't misplace the in their jacket, pocket,
etc... Then....if the cards haven't shown up, you can start
investigating
2. Don't let anyone know u are investigating, or only
tell people you know didn't do it (friends that weren't there, or u know they
wouldn't steal)
Believe me,
when I say friend, I mean close friend, like they are like a brother or sister
to you. I have a friend who has stolen, and now I don't trust them with my
stuff.
If u tell anyone u
don't trust, they could tell the person that did take the cards, and it ruins
the investigation. You need to act normally, but keep your eye open, which goes
into the next section...
3. Keep your eyes open at all
times
Always look
around for shady trades or actions. If u see two people huddled in a corner
after a theft has been confirmed, ask to trade with them, if they have the cards
that were stolen, it's almost sure one of them took them.
3-Sub.
Get a list of stolen cards from the
person.
You need to know what
cards to look out for, protector color, etc... If you don't know what cards are
missing, you can't place an accusation on anyone.
4. If you find
someone with all the cards, it doesn't mean they stole
it
Just because they
have all the cards doesn't mean they stole it, they could have a similar deck,
with a few different cards. If this does happen, ask the person that has lost
cards for anything unique about their cards, like scratches and/or marks.
There's a very slim chance that two cards will ever have the same placement and
amount of scratches and/or marks, so that makes it easier to find
them.
If all this doesn't help, then wait until the next tourney
and use #5
5. Look for people that have recently gotten new cards,
but didn't have the money or resources to get them.
If someone comes in the
next week, and screams out that they got all the cards that were stolen last
week, on the same day as the theft, it's a 96% chance thy took them.
6. Above all, save all accusations until you have
evidence
Evidence would be the marks on the cards, knowing the kid's background, like
what they are like, nd if they have ever stolen before.
Included in
this article I have...Shuriken's Guide to Figure Out If Someone Is
Lying
1. Watch their
eyes
If the person doesn't make eye
contact with you at all, they are almost definitely lying, also watch for quick
eyes movements and lots of blinking.
2. Listen to what they are
saying.
If they
have to stutter or say ummmmmmmmmm a lot, they are trying to make up a story. If
you focus on what they have to say, you can find out if they are lying
easily
3. Watch for emotional bursts, mood swings, and whining
and/or yellng
If they get
really angry, they are lying, no doubt about it, if they stay calm and
collected, they are telling the truth.
Well this is my article on
stealing, I hope that anyone that reads this article can become more informed
about stealig and try to stop it ^^> And for you stealers out there....IT'S
