1. eye of destruction:
cards needed-eye of truth, bad reaction to simotchi
at first eye of truth seems pretty useless because it gives your opponent life points for drawing a magic card, however, when you play it in conjunction with bad reaction to simotchi it reverses the effect. your opponent loses 1000 lp if he draws a magic card. both traps are continuous. this is best suited for beatdown decks because they are generally magic-heavy.
2. super zombie dragon lockdown:
cards needed-three zombie dragons, two witches of the black forest, castle of dark illusions, darkness approaches, gravity bind
(the witches are for getting the other two dragon zombies) play gravity bind and activate it, play the zombie dragons in your hand one after the other.
next play the castle of dark illusions, flip it on the following turn and power up the zombie dragons for four turns. once the fourth turn is up activate darkness approaches and you are able to flip the castle of dark illusions agian.
once agian use caste of dark illusion's affect. after all the power boosting is done you have three 3200 atk zombie dragons (without field power bonus). this is good for stall decks and gravity bind decks.
weakness: jinzo if played early in the game or a chain destruction
soul eater:
cards needed-three kycoo the gost destroyers, two lesser fiends, soul release or any other cards that remove from play, and grave robber's retribution
simply play kycoo the ghost destroyer (use his ability to remove two cards from play when he does battle damage) and tribute for lesser fiend (once lesser fiend attacks the card destroyed is removed from play. add in any other cards such as soul release or gravedigger ghoul and you can do major damage to the opponent's graveyard. the point of this is to remove as many from play as possible and activate graverobber's retribution so that your opponent loses 100 lp per each card removed from his/her graveyard. i have played this strategy several times before i changed my deck and it works very well, on my best game my opponent was losing 2000 lp each standby phase.
weakness:necrovalley
tips-
easy ways to get rid of jinzo:
book of moon
curse of fiend
monster cards with destructive effects that target monsters ex. man eater bug.
tips for beginners:
i have played yu-gi-oh since the first starter decks came out and i have found what could be the best tribute monster ammount to put in your deck. this has worked for me and others i have helped build decks with but it depends on the person.
1-2 seven to eight star monsters
2-3 five to six star monsters
this allows you to have plenty of monster space and room in your deck to strengthen your main strategy.
the best ratio for a deck is twenty monsters, fifteen magic, five traps.
be careful when to activate cards, experienced deulists play their weaker cards first to test an opponent's strength. most of all do not waste staple cards like dark hole, change of heart, raigeki (if you can get one), and other cards that can help you win it. learn to feel out when the right moment is to play, the second you lose your cool you lose the duel. never panic.
last but not least just don't give up. we all started out getting crushed by other more seasoned players so don't feel alone. everyone was a noob once so don't let anyone insult you like that just calmly say " and i suppose you knew everything when you started playing". more experienced players try to intimidate you with all theier holographic cards but just remember one thing if you nothing else...a deck full of holographics is a duelist with no skill and uses them as a crutch to win.
