The Ban List-or-
Is it Really Worth Quitting? By James Brock.
Hey everyone. Yes, this is my first report on POJO. Enjoy.
The Ban List.
Not quite one of the most anticipated things, is it?
I didn’t think so. As you may know, the ban list is affecting many YGO players. Some are quitting, and some players are staying along for the ride. I have been playing YGO for 3 years now, and not once have I considered quitting. Why? Because it was one heck of a game. Note: It WAS. YuGiOh, I admit, has had its days as the hottest TCG’s, and will possibly remain that way for the next few years. Changes are coming. (VS SYSTEM) Now is the point where you, the nearly obsessed with YGO player, may want to stop reading. I quit YGO a month ago. Gasp. Why, you ask? Because,
1: *brings up hate mail shield* YGO isn’t the best game available. No, that is not an opinion, that is a fact. Simply Because:
A: The Market Requires a new game.
People simply want something new to play. Remember Poke’mon? Exactly.
And…
B: MARVEL VS is simply more balanced. Each team affiliation has it’s own strengths and weaknesses, where as Chaos is given all the power…. until the ban list at least. Also, YGO is one sided. If a player draws pot of greed, graceful charity, and painful choice, there is a 90% chance that the game belongs to you. In VS SYSTEM, the opening hand has little influence on how the game will unfold.
2: The current meta-game revolves around Chaos. This makes me downright SICK. Remember the days when there were all different deck types? Exodia? Beatdown? Fiend? All gone. Now, it seems that all of that is gone, and that the current players are simply concerned about winning. Does anyone remember why we started playing YuGiOh? Was it just to win? NO! Was it just to brag about all the shiny cards you have? NO! It was simply to HAVE FUN, and that’s what I think we ought to start doing. If anything, I disagree with VENOM when he said that we are in the Silver age of YGO. If anything, we are in the dark age of YGO, and that is where we’ll stay unless someone does something about it. Solution: The Ban List!
-END RANT-
The Ban List.
Like it now? I do. Without cards like Painful Choice, Raigeki, Yata, and Delinquent Duo, Chaos will be powerless. And that is where we come in. There will be judgment. All of the Cookie Cutter decks will be no more. Originality will be once more. You see, the ban list shouldn’t be a burden; it should be regarded as an opportunity. A Gift. A Chance. A chance to make this game fun again, just how it should be. And that is what YuGiOh is all about. Fun.
