My deck really doesn’t have a name I just put quick strike cause I had to have something. I recently played in a tournament Saturday. It was in a Card store called The Arena in Salina, KS. The tournament was hosted and put together by about 3 or 4 18 year old or so people. The owner was nice enough to donate the prizes. The entrance fee was free. The Arena is about the only trading card game store in Salina. They sell about every trading card game and of course sports cards. Well any way, the tournament was a single elimination match tournament. In other words in each round u played a match, best 2 out of 3 and winner of 2 out of 3 advanced on and losers went HOME! Well if they wanted too. The tournament did not allow japenease cards.
Here is my deck I played with. I know it could be better but I’m not made of cash. But this deck does get the job done.
3 Summoned Skull
1 Judge Man
3 La Jinn
3 7 colored fish
3 Neo
1 Giant Soldier of stone
1 mystical elf
3 magician of faith
2 man eater bug
2 witch of the black forest
2 wall of illusion
1 big eye
1 pot of greed
1 change of heart
1 monster reborn
1 darkhole
1 swords of revealing light
1 yami
1 heavy storm
2 share the pain
2 block attack
2 fissure
3 reinforcements
3 trap hole
1 card destruction
2 dragon capture jar
There was about 30 or more people at the tournament and I forgot to say that there were two brackets. The winner of each bracket played in the championship.
First round
I was up against 1 of the hosts. He had a pretty big sized deck, about 60 or more cards it looked like to me. My memory isn’t that great so I might not remember a lot of things very clearly. Any way, he started off with a battle ox or something like that attached with 2 sword of deep seated. I just simply used a fissure on it and screwed him over there. I had got a couple of fish and a La Jinn out early that game a summoned skull too. He got another monster out with the sword again but I used share the pain to rid of it. While he kept on drawing the sword I kept on chipping away on his life points and when he finally had a chance to draw something besides the sword of deep seated he just could not draw a card to defend his life points with. I easily won this battle and after it was over I asked him if he had a lot of monsters in his deck and he said yes, I guess he just got unlucky, that’s why we were playing a match instead of just one duel.
Second duel
In the beginning he used a card destruction witch discarded his blue eyes. There was no way he was gonna’ get it out because I had lot of powerful monsters out and he couldn’t get 2 tributes out for it any way. I had my monster reborn from last turn, thank goodness I put it down so it didn’t get discarded by card destruction. Anyway I reborned the blue eyes and only had a chance to kill one of his monsters with it because he killed my neo the I set along side w/ bewd and than he used a fissure to kill bewd. It was a little more into the battle when we were both running low on life points he got a reborn the monster to guess who, get his bewd back into play with a sword of deep seated in witch he killed my summoned skull for 1000 lifepoints. The game was just started to shift in my power but when he got bewd things started to go his way. Next turn i used a dragon capture jar but to only find on his following turn that he used a dragon piper that he just drew. I did manage to get a monster in defense to escape the bewd for at least one turn. He got no monsters out that turn so I did not lose any life points. On my next turn I drew a fissure to rid of that nasty bewd. I got a neo out and he lost some points. He killed my neo and then before I knew on the next turn or so I had lost.
Game 3
He started off with an ultimate offering and got some monsters out quick. But on my turn I used a dark hole and then a heavy storm and got rid of his ultimate offering a dark hole and a Robbin goblin! Whew, what a break! After that nothing much else happened and I pretty much blew him away.
Round 2
I played this loud and annoying kid witch who was not a challenge at all and I blew him away both games. I got my yami out on both games in the beginning along with cards like la jinn and neo out. Also both games I had my skull out both games early.
Round 3
Here’s where my memory is pretty bad. I played another one of those hosts and I wiped him out both games. The first game I had 2 neo’s and two fish in my hand in the beginning and I used a fissure on one of his monsters and really got off to a quick start and did damage to his life points real quick. He used a soul release and got 5 of my cards in my graveyard removed from play. That ruined my plans to use magician of faith to get my fissure back and kill the monster standing in my way of getting the game over with on my next turn. But I drew a change of heart to put his monster on my side of the field so I could attack his life points directly and get the game over with. The next game was over real fast too and I quickly moved on my way to the next round.
Round 4- the semifinals
I was so surprised to see my opponent to be a pretty little kid. Maybe 9 or 10 years old. The fisrt duel was a complete blowout in witch my skull blew him away. By the second duel I guess I underestimated him a little too much because he kicked my butt. He got out a Jirai Gumo out but didn’t attack with it because he didn’t like his effect. I couldn’t get any monsters out to kill him. Finally he got a Summoned skull out but I just couldn’t draw any cards to defend my life points with and when I finally got a neo I used share the pain and got rid of that skull. I was surprised that he didn’t tribute his skull but it didn’t matter because I had enough points for him to kill me with the Jirai Gumo it didn’t matter with his effect or not because I had lost. I was so shocked that he beat me I couldn’t believe it. Next game I didn’t underestimate him at all and I took care of business and won quickly. I used the change of heart card to use his card to tribute summon my skull out and demolish him. I am going to the final round. Yes!!!!!
Round 5- the finals
It was against another one of those hosts. I beat him both times pretty easy using the change of heart to beat him the first game. I just overwhelmed him with all my magic and trap cards. He just couldn’t keep up with me. The last game I finished him off by leaving a weaker La Jinn out up against his stronger powered up card that it’s attack was 2100. He attack it but I activated a reinforcements to get his monster destroyed. The duel went downhill from there and I won. The two losers from the semifinals battled it out for 3rd place, that little kid and on of those hosts. I thought that that kid would have no chance whatsoever against him but when I ask I found out that he did actually win one duel against him. I couldn’t believe it. Any way the winner won 3 metal raiders packs, 2nd place got 2 packs, and 3rd packs got 1 pack. The guy that beat the kid for 3rd place was nice enough to give the kid his pack. In my packs I got a seven colored fish a prevent rat a Kuriboh a bladefly and a robbin goblin.
