Notes: Ok, today i was trying out something a little diffrent. I got together
a base of what i felt were the most playable cards. 42 of them to be exact.
Then i added seven booster cards that i felt would be best suited to any situation:
2x Kiseitai
1x Snatch Steal
1x Premature Burial
2x Magic Drain
1x Impreial Order
This Deck of 49 cards made up my base deck. My plan was to start with this deck
and decide if i wanted to make any changes. Right now i have two variants made
up for the seven booster cards:
Power Variant:
2x Malevolent Nuzzler
2x Dark Zebra
1x Hyabusa Knight
1x Premature Burrial
1x Snatch Steal
The intent of this variant was to spank my opponent into the ground before they
had a chance to realize what was happening.
Deck Destruction Variant:
1x Card Destruction
2x Nobleman of Courssant
2x Nobleman of Extermination
1x Gravekeeper's Servant
1x Morphing Jar
This variant's goal is to destory an opponents deck. Only to be used in extreme
situations.
Ok, that said, i went into the tournament with my base deck, two variants in
my side deck. It went as follows:
Round #1 (16 Players left)
Me vs Judy Corr
Note: Judy is one of the tough people to beat at my tournament. She is a nice
person, but hard to beat.
Duel #1:
We both opened with solemn wishes. I managed to get one hit in with Harpie's
brother and then it went downhill. She cleared the field while i was magic jammer-less.
I drew no more monsters from then on. Her solemn wished slowly returned her
health as she pummeled my defensless side of the feild into the ground. I did
manage to mirror force her side once, but she monster reborned and got out more
beatdowns. I lost that deul miserably.
Deul #2
This duel took forever. I mean forever. I thought we were going to run out of
time. I side decked this time, using my power variant. We both started with
1800 beatdowns and solemn wishes. I MSTyphooned her solemn wishes. Solemn wishes
kept me in cards to play until she dumped Blue Eyes White dragon after a cyber
jar.Luckily, she did it while my swords was on the feild. I also used snatch
steal to take her Blue Eyes (HA!). But i did not claim victory yet. I spent
three turns holding my breath as she set monsters from blue eyes to attack.
I forget how he died, but he did. Solemn wishes was buffering my life points
this whole time. i took some more damage, got back snatch steal and used it
to finish the duel.
Duel #3
This was a quick duel. i used MSTyphoon to get rid of her M/T, dark holed the
feild, and took back her 7colored fish with monster reborn. Then, with the field
bare, i did 2500 damage. I managed to get one hit in after that with the summoned
skull. Then i filped magician of faith and took monster reborn back, i got another
monster back and used it as a Jinzo tribute. The field was clear, i finished
the duel.
Overall: Not much to say. Our match took so long though, that everyone was crowded around us and it was hard to focus.
Round #2 (8 Players left)
Me vs Buddy
Duel #1
Buddy set a Sangan, i Snatch Steal-ed it and played my Goblin attack Force.
He uesed Wabouku and stoped the damage. I tributed sangan for jinzo and waited.
Next turn i got Megamorph. He had gotten life from snatch steal so my Goblin
Attack Force had an attack of 4600!!! I hit him for 7000 damage with jinzo and
Goblin attack force. next turn i took a pot shot with Mask of darkness and finished
the Duel.
Duel #2
He won this won using a Hyuabusa Knight and Malevolent Nuzzler combo.
Duel #3
I got my Jinzo out quick and he didnt draw any good monsters, just lots of traps.
Round #3 (4 Players left)
Me vs William(same name as me)
Duel #1
This guy had not been playing outside his circle of friends long. He remided
me of me when i first played in a tournament. My swords of revealing light dominated
this match. I kept him from attacking an sntach stealed his Judge Man and beatdown
his life points.
Duel #2
Nothing interesting in this duel either. He did use his acursed Graceful Dice
Card (is that tournament legal?) to win though.
Duel #3
I dominated this one as well. Swords kept him paralyzed until i drew my rageki
(he had no magic stoppage, he did despell my swords though). Jinzo and Sumoned
Skull beat down until the end.
Round #4 (2 Players left)
Me vs Robert
Duel #1
This did not go well for me. I made a stupid mistake by using magic drain instead
of magic jammer and lost (he heavy stormed my swords).
Duel #2
Ok, this is where the pickiness begins. I played a goblin attack force, he chage
of heart-ed it after i attacked and it was forced to go to defense. Does he
get to change it to attack mode, since i havent let them rest for one turn?
I said no and he didnt do it. Then i played Imperial Order. Curses. I hate that
card now. It lost me the game. I was forced to keep it on the field, even after
i was done with it. I wanted to not pay the life points, but no dice. So I folded,
with a megamorph and a monsterreborn in my hand and a summoned skull in my grave,
and i was down on lifepoints.
Overall, Second Place ain't half bad. I opted not to take my tournament pack now, hoping for season 2 packs next week. I had lots of fun.
