Match 1 round 1 best of 3 single elimination. Me vs
Alex.
Alex is a good player who uses Relinquished as a control monster and
uses Heavy Storms as well as Giant Trunade to defend his monsters against traps
. I was kinda nervous going in to the first match so I figured if I hit
hard and counter everything he throws at me and hope to win. He had a bad draw
in the first match ,so it took about 6 turns for me to megamorph my Jirai Gumo
and abuse the loss of half my life points to keep megamorph working for me,plus
I had a Dark Elf which ensured no decent level 4's would get through to my life
points. Simply put i attacked with Jirai Gumo and Dark Elf on turn 6 for the
win. Game 2 of the match was neck and neck counters every single time i summoned
a monster that would get at Alex's life points he would have something,so
I was thankful my Seven Tools Of The Bandit came up fast for me and remained the
deciding factor in my attacks. Around turn 10 i was at 120 life points and he
was at 200 life points he had Giant Trunade and Raigeki in his hand and messed
up the order he played them,he played Raigeki first which was
stuffed/denied/haulted by Solemn Judgement right then and there i knew since he
had no monsters and i had a summoned skull at 5,000 with Megamorph,it was over.
On my turn i attacked and won. Even if he had a mirror force I still had a Seven
Tools of The Bandit waiting to deny him.
Round 2 Me vs Chris.
Chris was a novice player who built a fire based deck, and anyone who's
played me knows that themed decks don't go far against my deck as far as overall
damage goes. First match he tried to play UFO turtle,I had a trap hole in play
and he had a few Magic ruler equips in his M/T zone. I killed the turtle
off ,went to my turn , played Jurai Gumo and stomped his monster he was able to
summon with UFO Turtle. In my M/T zone were Waboku,Just Deserts,Seven Tools Of
The Bandit,Solemn Judgement. He took his next turn unable to do anything,so on
my turn i drew a fissure and waited for his next monster. His next turn he sets
another UFO Turtle,i saw him try to grab 2 cards from the top of his deck and
told him not to do that or I'd actually try to beat him rather than toy
around,he got scared and I watched him draw 1 card per draw phase the rest of
the 3 turns the game went on. On my turn,I see his UFO turtle in play and i
figure I'll lure him into attacking, becasue i wanted a full field of as many
level 4's as possible to finish the match. I set Cyber Jar and ended my turn, his
turn comes he draws, and attacks with his UFO TURTLE ,now pumped up by a Black
Pendant,Malevolent Nuzzlerx2 and i wound up with a Magician Of Faith ,Dark
Elf,La Jinn in play. he only got a level 4(don't remember it wasn't enough
though). i take my turn and flip summon Magician of Faith to snag my Pot of
Greed which I had used first turn and pulled Summoned Skull and Megamorph his
life points went from 10,000 (from Upstart Goblin twice, because of Magician Of
Faith) to 5600 so I attacked with La Jinn and Dark Elf. he was at 1,800 my life
points remained pretty low at 5,000. He took his turn ,summoned another level 4
and he knew it was over,i drew just deserts on my turn ,smack smack, game set
match.
Round 3 Me vs David.
Ok David is one of the better players
probably the second best of the Elite which go to Comic Zone. I was nervous, and
I figured going in If I made it to the semi-finals I've kept the novices from
getting there and being tossed around all night long so I did my job. David
pretty much played a beatdown deck and had more counters than me, so I lost due
to the fact I was outmatched. I will say this in closing, tournaments aren't won
on the cards in your deck it's how you play them. An example is that i played
back in LOB with a Yugi Starter Deck inserted a Raigeki, and beat alot of "good"
players with their SORL and other "staples". Bottom line i lost 2 of the 3 games
in the match to david, but i got a tournament pack. didn't want to pull
mechanical chaser, because he's not worth looking for to run 2 or even 3 in a
deck then have him stuffed, gagged, beaten and eliminated by counters. All
creatures are ownable ,excluding the God Cards, learn it and live with
it.
