1st Match
Me
v.s. Jarod (newbie)
Duel 1:
In my first hand I had SS, Ring of
Magnetism, Fishy, and a couple other cards that I cant remember. I let him go
first. He set a monster in def and it was my turn. I played La Jinn and attacked
and he flipped it over. It was a Ryu-Ran. Obviously he didn't know about
tributes, so I explained the whole level-thingie and continued. Being the nice
guy that I am, I let it go. All I really remember was using a Ring of Magnetism
on my SS to get his Ryu-Ran to attack it, then attacking the Ryu-Ran with my
Monster Reborned SS. I then beat him down with Dark Zebra, Fishy, and SS. I win!
Duel 2:
Basically it was just a repetition of last duel. He knew the
rules this time, though. I was really sorry that I had to eliminate this newbie
on the first round, but it was a tournament. Unfortunately he got all commons in
his tourney pack. Sorry, man! I win!
Record: 2-0-0
2nd Match
Me v.s. Ramdon (?)
Duel 1:
This guy wasn't as bad as my previous
opponent, but he wasn't good, either. He had a lot of Life Point recovery cards,
but that didn't help at all. The only damage he did to me was when my La Jinn
attacked a Ceremonial Bell. As usual, La Jinn and Summoned Skull wiped him out.
I win!
Duel 2:
Well, it went just like the duel above except that I
only got damage from Hinotama and my own Jirai Gumo. I win!
Record:
4-0-0
3rd Match (Semifinals):
Me v.s. Tommy
I had met Tommy
before the tournament, and he was a nice guy. Of course, since this was my first
tourney, he thought that he would beat me. If I won this match, then I would be
on the finals and be guaranteed at least $10 and a tourney booster. I had gone
this far and wasn't ready to lose! (at least not yet.)Needless to say, I was
really nervous. If I win, I get $10 and a tourney pack. If I lose, I would get a
tourney pack. I usually get nervous about these things. $10 was on the line, and
if I lost, it would be gone. Allright, this is getting long so I'll get on the
the duels.
Duel 1:
I was so nervous that I can't remember my hand
except for La Jinn, Fissure, and Malevolent Nuzzler. He won the flip and went
first. Tommy brought out a La Jinn and powered it up all the way to about 3000.
With a little bit of body English, I gave him the impression that I had already
lost all hope. When he was done, I simply layed down Fissure. Ha! If only I
could show a picture of his face right here. It was priceless(yes, I know, I
watch too much TV)! I brought out my own La Jinn and powered it with Malevolent
Nuzzler and attacked him for a solid 2500. He used a monster removal card and
destroyed my souped-up La Jinn. I also used a mon removal card and attacked him
with a Fishy. After that I just kept attacking with my Fish and I won.
Duel 2:
Now I was really nervous. I couldn't blow it know. I
honestly couldn't remember this Duel very well. What I do remember, though, is
finally defeating him with a Change-of-Hearted Monster. I win!
Record:6-0-0
4th Match (Finals)
Me v.s. Evan
I
actually got this far on my first tournament! I was guaranteed the $10 dollars,
so I felt really safe. However, on the other hand, I was going to play the best
Duelist in about a 100-mile radius. No joke. I had heard about him at the
beginning of the tourney. The way that he plays it seems like he has never lost
a tournament before. He also has tons and tons of cards at his disposal. Evan is
a really cool and nice guy, though. You can't find anybody like him very easily.
Anyway, on to the Match, but I really don't have very much to say.
Duel
1:
He did the Life Point count on the Match and I was to nervous to do it
also, so I really don't remember how it went. I only remeber using Magician of
Faith to use Pot of Greed four times. He totally creamed me. I lose :(
Duel 2:
Pretty much the same thing. This time I did a lot more
damage to his Life Points, though. He attacked La Jinn with Jirai Gumo and I
used Waboku. Called it wrong and lost 4000 Life Points! Ouch! It didn't really
matter, though. He also used Solemn Judgement against my Judge Man. Sounds
pretty funny. After that... he totally creamed me. I lose :(
Record:
6-0-2
Evan's tourney pack had 3 commons, and mine had a rare. He wanted
it so I traded it for a Dark Elf. I don't remember the card's name, but I do
remember knowing that Dark Elf would benefit me a lot more. I also received my
$10. Not bad at all. Using it I got 3 Magic Ruler boosters and got complete
crud: two Hiro's Shadow Scouts and a UFO Turtle. Darn. Oh well, at least I got a
much hoped-for Dark Elf.
Props:
My mom and dad, for taking me
Pojo, for posting this and being such a great and reliable site
Lone
Star Comics, for having the tournament
Evan, for being cool and nice
Dark Elf, for finally being mine
Black Luster Soldier, for being the
best Duel Monster there was and the best there ever will be.
Slops:
My Magic Ruler boosters
a kid that was eliminated in the first round,
for thinking that he could beat me
