The tourney was unofficial. It
allowed japanese cards that have not been printed in english yet. There were a
lot of people and it was crowded. Translations were needed if you're using
japanese cards. Translations were provided by the person who was the leader of
the tourney's site which is Edo Hrzic III.
Double elimination. If you lose twice in a duel,
you're sent to the losers brackets. If you lose twice again in a duel, you're
removed. Me and my friend participated even his 5th grade bro. His bro, Chad
lasted ultra long with like a 30 year old on the first round, they had the
longest duel. The tournament was cool and fun and I discovered my weakness in
the deck. oh yeah! entry fee was five bucks.

Total-50 cards
Okay, now to the tourney. My
first time really nervous and really cold, AC was right next to where the
tourney was held. Well if you live on Oahu, every Sunday is when people come and
duel each other and practice. Its really cool and you people should stop by and
watch. Before it started I had two matches for fun with these kids, I was kickin
their butt. Then the tourney started at last!
Round One: Me against and this
7th or 6th grader.
I can't remember my hand but I know it was kind
good. I had a Harpy Feather Duster and he had a number of M/T cards on the field
so i played it and he had Heavy Storm and other good ones. I began wiping out
his monsters and doing direct damage for about two times. I had a La Jinn with
two SODS and he played a card called Emissary of Obliteration. He killed it and
the swords went back to my deck which really screwed me...badly...He had
TriHorned on the field and smacked me down to zero. I looked at my deck and
there were like about 4 magic cards on the top. All the goodies were in the
middle.
Similar to the first one and I lost again. He
had Sangan, and other two monsters attacking me for a total of 2000! Each card I
drew for 3 turns were magic cards. >_<!! My friend also lost from a Dragon
Beatdown
Round Two-Losers bracket: Me and
Victoria (a new person to Yu-Gi-Oh)
An easy win...she was new and I told her things
that she didn't know before. My hand was kinda good. I played my Ryu-Kishin P.
with one SODS. She played face down monsters and they were weak. A few
turns, I ended it quickly with direct damage.
The second one was the same, direct damage. It was
obvious that I won. My friend Dan also won against the same kid I battled for
fun.
Round Three-Losers Bracket:Me
and this kid.
This kid has a dragon based beatdown. He couldn't
get much monsters out but he then brought out Tri-Horned Dragon then theft my
Summoned Skull with two SODS and smacked me silly to zero LP.
The same but it was much worse. I hated my hand so
much it was really crappy. The middle was when I lost. He placed down Lord of D.
and used special summoned Tri-Horned and this dragon that had 2500 ATK I think.
I didn'y have anything to counter it. I flipped my Man-Eater Bug and destroyed
his Lord of D. then I tribute it to summon the SS with one SODS. I attacked his
weak dragon and bam! Mirror Force! I was pissed off and I knew that I should
have played Harpy Feather Duster when he had those five M/T cards down. He
attacked me and I was eliminated from the tourney.
My friend came by and he lost too even his little
bro. I knew that I should've placed Dragon Capture Jar in my deck because I
thought that there wasn't gonna be those Bue-Eyes decks. Well the next tourney,
I will make sure I got that in. Even if you people think are tough enough to
challenge japanese decks with only english cards, well its hard. There many,
many better cards than the english ones. Everyone in the tourney had japanese
decks, I had both english and jap. There was one guy who had an english deck but
he lost in the first round. He had like mostly all the cards from each set in
english, he had Relinquished, like about two Gate Gaurdians(didn't have in deck
of course!), and he has a secret rare enlish first edition Blue Eyes Toon
Dragon!! He let me touch it too ^_^ That sucka is real. He had more good ones
too. He lasted longer than me in the tourney. Well if you have japanese cards,
go to the link above in the beginning and look for the card that you have. To
find what card you're looking for there is the set - # . Example: LN-36 is on
the card, look for the right set and look for the number and those translations
are true. The dude can read japanese.
The good stuff:
-got giant growth (equip magic/effect-when you have
less life points than your opponent, double the equipped monsters atk points. If
you have more, halve the equipped monster atk points)
-my dad for taking me
-challenging the girl for easy win
-didn't fight the extremely good, good, good,
duelist! ( I challenged him once and I lost BADLY!)
-for the english deck dude that will give me his
extra Seven Tools for my mint Suijin on Sunday
The bad stuff:
-Dan's little bro for doing better than
us!!
-Losing to people
-Having too much people
-Being frozen to death
