Huge tourney of
66 kids!
Sixty-six kids! The whole place was aligned with heads. To walk
to see your seating was like this big fuss. N e way, the entry fee was five
dollars and the prizes were in the $100's in store credit. What sucked for me
was that I ordered a Raigeki off ebay 2 weeks prior to this tourney and it still
hadn't come. It came the day I'm typing this, September 9, lol. Here's Assault

was paired up with some older dude named Michael, I never knew what to expect
Assault Theme vs. Michael
We cut decks and we draw. I drew a BEWD,
Solemn J., 2 7colored fish, and a Fissure. I went first(as I will most of the
following Matchs) I played SJ and Fissure down and 7 fish in attack. He plays
down a Fish as well. Next turn I Fissure it and played another and attacked his
Life points for 3600. I don't remember what he monster he set next but he did
play Fissure destroying a fish. After a few more turns, I had all 8000
lifepoints and he was down to like 2000. I just got a blue-eyes on the field but
he Kuribohed his attack. On his turn he said " this is a real gutsy move, but
I'm playing: Time Wizard!" "Solemn Judgement I flipped and that was my only lost
of Lifepoints during the game. I won. The second duel, went pretty well for me
and he didn't get Time Wizard, I quickly beat his monsters for the win. 2-0
1-0 Assault Theme vs. Brad
First round was a slaughter against me,
he got like 3 monsters out on the field and I played Summoned Skull w/ the help
of Soul Exchange, he then played Change of Heart and defeated me round 1. I
don't remember the 2nd round but that I won. The third was a beauty. I had B. Ox
in attack with Magician of Faith, W. of Black Forest, and man eater bug. I
flipped Man Eater bug destroying his 7-c fish and then flipped my MOF to recover
Monster Reborn. I used it to bring back Blue-Eyes and then I sacrificied W.. of
the Black Forest and Man-eater Bug for Barrel Dragon, and I searched my deck for
Summoned Skull. So I had Barrel an Blue-eyes out vs. a defense monster. I used
Barrel's effect and destroyed it and then I attacked with both bring his LP down
to like 1500. He drew nothing and the next turn I just sacrificed B. OX for
Summoned Skull and attacked with all. I won.
1-0 Assault Theme vs. very
annoying deck. And was the most interesting duel of the day
Well, that last
game with Brad took a while but nothing topped this. She sat next to me earlier
and I knew she played Yami, Ryu Kishin Powered and Sword of Dark Destruction. I
drew prevent rat, stimpack, 7 colored fish, fissure and something else. I went
first. I played stimpack facedown and prevent rat in defence. She played Ryu
Kishin P. with Sword of Deep Seated and Sword of Dark Destruction. I played
Fissure and attacked her lifepoints with 7 fish. The entire game with her was
switching blows with powerful cards. For example. She would get her Ultra Rare
Summoned Skull because of her W. of the B. Forest. She would throw it down and
play Sword of Dark Destruction attacking whatever it was, next turn I would play
fissure. Fissure won the first game for me. The second would only get weirder.
Within the first 3 turns I played a Heavy Storm getting rid of her equip cards,
Yami and 2 Trap Holes she had waiting. I played Reborn at one point to bring
Blue-eyes back. She then fissured it. I had no monsters on the field and was
drawing nothing good. She had nothing out either until she reborned her RKP and
tributed it for Judge Man, and I made a really dumb mistake, I played Solemn
Judgement and forgot about the traphole I had sitting next to it. And one move
that she made was completely insane and I don't know how she did it. I had a set
Prevent Rat and she had Neo and Dark Magician. She announced, Neo attack
monster, D. Magician attack life points. She lost 300pt for Neo but she took the
2500 out of my LP for D. Magician. I called the judge and he was on her side. My
prevent rat wasn't destroyed, how can she attack my lifepoints. N e way I lost
the 2nd duel but the best was yet to come. One of the best parts was when I she
had 3 monsters on the field, 2 set and 1 Neo. I played Change of Heart
controling her Man-eater bug(that was close) and sacrificing it and another one
of my monsters for Barrel Dragon which effected her other set monster(Mystical
Elf) and I killed Neo. Another good move was when she attacked Big Eye and my
top cards were like Pot of Greed, 2 Fissure, Waboku and something else. In the
end of that game, I won.
3-0 Top 8 vs. Greg.
I didn't really expect to win against
Greg because he was a pro. He played some good cards and so did I. He used
Shadow Ghoul and Magician of Faith. He then used Change of Heart and won. The
second duel went great for me. He drew nothing and I played tremendous fire 3
times. I also played(really gutsy move but I wanted that chunk of life points
gone) Jirai Gumo and attacked flippping right! Sweet, he was ticked. I later had
several MOF and my MEB and Dark Elf out, I flipped MOF to get a Tremendous Fire
and did another thousand to his lifepoints bringing it down to 450, I was so
close until Swords of Revealing Light made the scene. He brought it back with
Magician of Faith, Change of Hearted my 7 fish, played Raigeki and won. Soooooo
close. Wow and I got a tourney pack for all this
Talk to me sometime,
Brendan Braaten TurboSkater28@aol.com, sorry for a long report, hope you enjoyed
it if you read it, bye.
