The Tournament Report:
At Artifex, you were allowed to use any cards from any series or booster decks
as long as they were in English. This store did not have any restrictions
on any Labyrinth of Nightmare. So, I got to have fun by being killed by
kids who have THREE magical cylinders O.o
The matches were three rounds, the best of three matches. If you lose a
match, then you are out of the tournament. The prizes were:
First: A box of LON
Second: 12 packs of LON
Third: 10 packs of LON
Everyone who loses after his or her match gets a free LON pack. IF you
lose after the third round, you get two packs of LON.
The Matches:
Match 1:
Myself vs. A little kid
~He had some sort of Beatdown deck I guess.
This match was incredible easy for me. I never lost any life
points. He tried to send out an Empress Mantis (a tribute monster) but I
told him he had to tribute a monster to play it.
Wins: 2-0
Match 2:
Myself vs. a teenager
~I believe he was using a fire deck
This was yet again, another easy match. He played a fire deck because he
played molten destruction. The first round was very easy for me.
The second match was a little tougher. He played change of heart on my
Bazoo the Soul Eater (which already had 2200 attack points) then played monster
reborn and took my other Bazoo. He attacked my life points, which was the
first time I took any life point damage. Anyway, I got my Bazoo back from
his turn, removed three cards from play and attached an axe of despair on
him. I fissured his monster (my Bazoo) and won the match from there.
Wins: 4-0
Match 3:
Myself vs. A guy
This guy was tough! At first, I was really happy and excited that I
actually made it past the second round, but I saw whom I was facing. I
think he was the third place winner from the tournament last week so I lost all
my confidence. He began by placing one card face down. I summoned
Gearfried to attack it, and it was Nimble Momonga. I freaked because he
special summoned two onto the field and I did not have any more monsters in my
hand. Next turn, I drew Jinzo. I was so happy, but then he played
Offerings to the Doom and killed my Jinzo. From there, he played Penguin
Soldiers to return my monsters and he attacked with Nimble Momonga. I had
a mirror force face down, but I was waiting until he attack with his other face
down cards. He never did flip summon, but played an 1800 attack monster
so I Mirror Forced that. Second round, I got some of his life points
down, but he killed me before I could counterattack. That was the end for
me. The guy I played and two of his friends ended up being the top three,
so they split the box of LON to themselves.
I got two packs, but really sucky cards in them:
One Destruction punch
One Infinite Cards
~Overall, I think I did well for my second tournament.
Anyways, time to give Props.
Props:
~Me for getting past the third round.
~Me for buying two Bazoo The Soul Eater before the tournament started.
~My good buddies Rex M, Bryce K, and Matt W, for giving me enough money to
enter the tournament
No Props:
~Me for losing in the third round
~Me for sucking at this tournament
~Artifex for restricting Magical Cylinder
