This is going to be short, since I only went one round : ( K, as some may know, this is only my second report, and second tourney, and prolly more important is my low budget : (. Two of my friends, Jamie, Justin, and me went to this tourney. Once again, there was upward 60 participents, I think 63, since there was 1 bye. K, now on to it.
Round One: Me VS Jacob
This kid was pretty cool, and he wasn’t all cocky. As usual, we wished each other luck and all. And he decided to go first. I can’t really remember what he drew, but I do remember that I drew almost all magic and trap and that my only monster was a harpy’s brother. In this dual, it was one sided with him beating me down. But on the second dual it was more or less the same, just reversed. The real action took place during the third dual. We both got some nice magic, trap and monsters in our draws. But we cept on trap holing, fissuring, horn of heavening, and just about any other monster removal. What it came down to was me and him picking at each others life points with MEB, WotBF, and Time Wizard. Now even though it seemed it was going to go on forever, we both knew that it would end once on of us got a high level monster or a nice 4 star, since by this time we was both at low life points. If I remember right, I was at 900 and he was at 1500. But he got a lucky break. Since we couldn’t do much, and we both had too much magic and trap to chance it, we had out monsters in defense.
But then he drew a mask of brutality, according to him, his substitute for axe of despair. So he plowed threw my defense monster. I realized that it would be over next turn unless I got something game breaking, which I did. I drew a mask of darkness. Now this may not seem like much, but it was enough to get his life points, since he didn’t know what was in my hand. Now I decided to not play a monster, since I had down a waboku. Now all I had to hope for was that he didn’t have a counter, and that he would continue the mask and put his bug in attack. Lucky me, he did all of that, plus attacked, and everything went as planned. Now I just had to hope that he didn’t have any thing to get me when I played mask of darkness. So I drew, and was even happier when I saw dark hole. Of course I slapped that down, but of course he flipped up imperial order (the card that I now want REALLY badly.) So now I just had to hope for him to not have a monster removal or anything, so I played the mask and attacked his bug, only to get a mirror force flipped >_<. As you can guess, that was my last move, but that last dual was a dual well worth the effort, even though it was a loss. As for my friends, Justin's deck is still strange, and he claims "luck" is what gives him Lord of D., 2 BEWD, and Dragon summoning flute on his first draw, almost every dual. So he was creamed all but instantly against a speed burner. As for Jamie, he went against a VERY well made Exodia deck that used a lot of monster reborn cards to get his sangan back, so that was a pretty quick match for him. Sadly, we didn’t get in a bit of trading. And even worse is that one of my La Jinns just went poof sometime during the tourney, and with my uberly low budget, I’m not sure when I can get another But it was a good time and we had tons of fun.
Now for my deck, which has had some additions, and subtractions, along with my La Jinn.
