I love this deck. One of my favorites. Even though my Hand Disruption/Beatdown is probably my most effective. This deck runs low on monsters and heavy in traps. I know this deck is trap heavy, but most of the traps are chainable. Magics seem to be below average. This deck is very fast and with the help of Mirage, I am guaranteed to dump 3 pieces to grave then being able to Backup Soldier them. Some of you may be thinking why I have 3 MST's. But it may be obvious to others that they are there to help me get rid of Mirage after I get 1-4 free cards. Most of the time, I will pull an MST so that is why I pack 3. They also help me get rid of Prematures, Call's, and the ever so pesky Imperial Order. Giant Trunade is in there to get back my Premature and Call of the Haunted when on the field. Exiled Force is there to destroy my opponents dangeroud f/d monsters or to destroy that Witch or Sangan in order to get that last piece into my hand. To some, 15 monsters may see a little low, but it works perfectly fine. I have most of the deck thinners and drawing cards like: Mystic Tomato, Sangan, Witch, 2 Graceful, Mirage, Painful, and 3 Jars of Greed.
This is my home store since it's a couple of blocks away. I can walk there but it takes a while so I got my dad to give me a ride there. For the first time, we got a chance to play a 2-on-2 Tourney. It was unofficial so meh. I didn't know of this till I went in and one of the kids informed me. Exodia would be perfect for this kind of tourney. The setup was as followed:
Partners we're picked at random. You were then given time to discuss some kind of strategy in order to funtion better as a team. You only play 1 match since it would take too long to play 2 out of 3. You began with 16000 life points. Unfortunately for me though, I got paired up with some guy that played some weird Dragon-Deck with no Raigeki or Dark Hole because he wanted to be "challanged." Two other people entered, so we had to pick out some poker chips out of the organizers hand to see who was paired up with Chris (guy with weird Dragon-Deck). The guy with lowest number got paired up with Christ. Unfortunately again, I got the lowest number. Damn my luck! Oh well...on to the tourney.
Round 1:
Me and Chris vs. Zack and Vince
Zack and Vince are both exellent friends and good people overall. I socialize more with Vince because we are in the same grade so yeah. They were playing some kind of Hand Disruption/Gravity Bind deck with White Magical Hat and Spirit Reaper.
match 1:
This was the longest match in the whole tourney. While everyone was playing in their second round matches. We were still playing out first. It started very slow with them hitting us by the multiples of hundreds. They used something like Raigeki and I countered with Imperial. I kept that Imperial on the field for so long. Then my partner pulled the Imperial so I stopped paying for mine. I then used my frist magic card that would lead me and my parter to victory: Pot of Greed. They countered with Imperial, then I chained with MST getting rid of their Imperial. I use them all and I see to be missing a piece. I use Graceful, and I don't get it, so I dump 2 pieces because I have 1 in the grave. It gets to the point where they are about to hit us with White Magical but I Waboku. Vince clears the fielf via Cyber Jar and I get one of the pieces I'm missing and I set it in the field. I notice that he got a Crossout via Cyber Jar so I was a little afraid that he might use it against my piece. A couple of turns later, he does so but my partner is ready with a Magic Jammer. It gets to the point where they have no traps to stop my Sinister Serpants attack, so I reborn their White Magical. Vince then summons another, but I again Waboku. My partner then summons that Dark Soul monster that takes control of all of the opponents level 3 and under monsters. He takes his White Magical and we obliterate Vince's hand. We then go for Zack. We almost get him. He pulls out a White Magical Hat and activates 2 Robbin' Goblins and attacks my Sinister Serpant, but I quickly Mirror Force. We get them down to 900. And I pull a Backup Soldier. During my opponents turn I use it and we Win my Exodia.
Round 2:
Me and Chris vs. Tony and Adrian
Tony is finally going New Age and he's making a deck similar to my Hand Disruption/Beatdown deck. Adrian has sold most of his cards to play Heroclix, but he entered this tourney for the heck of it. Both of them are very respectable duelist.
match 1:
This match was very fast compared to the last match. They start with an early Cyber Jar. Adrian gets 4 monsters via Cyber. They then target me because I have no monsters on the field. I then do quick drawings and pull alot of the pieces. They get us down to 600. I top deck a Witch of the Black Forest. Summon it. Use Painful Choice to put a third piece into the graveyard (I have 1 piece in my hand, 1 in the deck, and now...3 in the graveyard). I bump heads with his Witch and search for The Forbidden One himself (well...only his Head). I set Backup Soldier. End my turn. He draws, uses Feather Duster so I chain Backup Soldier ending the game.
Round 3:
Me and Chirs vs. John and Joe
Damn Joe and John. They knew I was playing Exodia so the side decked a bunch of MST's/Dust Tornado and Pre-Negators in order to defeat The Forbidden One. I respect both John and Joe because John plays a very good Beatdown while Joe playes a nice Hand Disruption.
They start so John sets 1 M/T, then it's Chris' turn, so he sets a monster. Then Joe sets 12 M/T's, then it's my turn. I have in my hand this: Imperial Order, Mirror Force, Jar of Greed, Waboku, and Sinister Serpant. Joe uses Time Seal on me preventing me from drawin. I put down Jar and Waboku and they quickly Dust Tornado and MST me. I then set Imperial and Mirror Force. I play Sinister f/d. From there on, they totally own us.
I get my pack for losing but I decide to not open it. Good match and a very fun tournament. I then play people for fun because everyone begins challanging me. And I begin pulling Exodia here and there! I like Exodia, but I don't think it well against a well built Hand Disruption deck. Check out my other Tourney Report where I play my Hand Disruption/Beatdown.
