Here is my 1st tourny report, but it isn't the first tourny I went to. I
don't really have the time to go to a lot of tournaments, and I've got a
reputation for being the "mystery duelist" since I usually don't come often and
I win either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Here's my deck:
Monsters(23):
2 La Jinn the Mystical Genie
3 Summoned Skull
3 Maha Vailo
1 Jinzo
3 Hayabusa Knight
1 Cyber Jar
3 Magician of Faith
3 Man-Eater Bug
1 Witch of the Black Forest
3 Mechanicalchaser
Magic(19):
1 Tailor of the Fickle
2 Malevolent Nuzzler
1 Heavy Storm
3 Axe of Despair
1 Pot of Greed
1 Change of Heart
1 Dark Hole
1 Raigeki
1 Monster Reborn
1 Swords of Revealing Light
3 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Fissure
1 Nobleman of Crossout
Trap(7):
2 Magic Jammer
1 Seven Tools of the Bandit
1 Mirror Force
1 Call of the Haunted
2 Trap Hole
TOTAL: 49 Cards
First Round-Me Against Jamie Brown(attempt at making a seto kaiba
deck):
1st duel- I won the coin toss(tails never fails. ^_^) and I chose to go
second. Jamie put Rogue Doll Down in face up attack mode(how else would I know
what card it was?). He ended his turn. I had drew a Witch of the Black Forest. I
used Pot of Greed and drew Magic Jammer and Trap Hole. I put them both down,
along with Seven Tools of the Bandit and summoned La Jinn, killing his Rogue
doll and leaving his life points to 7800. He put a m/t card face down and ended
his turn. I had drew Hayabusa Knight. I used Mystical Space Typhoon, and I
destroyed his Ryu-Kishin. I then summoned Hayabusa Knight and attacked two times
with it, together with La Jinn, which caused 3800 damage. His lp went down to
4000. I ended my turn, and he didn't draw any monsters, so I sacrificed La Jinn
for Summoned Skull and attacked his lp directly and won the first duel.
2nd duel- This duel was pretty much the same, except I didn't have Summoned
Skull, I had Maha Vailo equipped with Axe of Despair.
Second Round- I got a bye….YAY!!!
Third Round-Me Against Jenny Gardner(runs a Tea deck, big surprise):
1st duel- I won the coin toss(tails never fails…) and I chose to go
second.. She put down a monster face down and put a m/t card face down. It was
then my turn. I used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy her trap hole. I then put
Mechanicalchaser in attack mode and attacked malevolent nuzzler to him, raising
his attack to 2550. I then attack her face down card, which was Spirit of the
Harp. I ended my turn. She put Maiden of the Moonlight face up in attack mode. I
asked her why she did that, she said it's for her own personal reasons. It was
my turn. I used fissure to get rid of her Maiden of the Moonlight and I attacked
her lp directly, leaving it to 5450. It was then her turn and she put another
monster face down. I drew Nobleman of Crossout(lucky lucky ME!!!) and her
Magician of faith was removed from the game. I then summoned Maha Vailo and
used Tailor of the Fickle to move Malevolent Nuzzler to Maha Vailo. Her attack
went up to 2750. I attacked with Mechanicalchaser and Maha Vailo, leaving her lp
at 850. I finished her off when it was my turn again since she didn't draw
any monsters.
2nd duel- She didn't draw any monsters, and I just wiped her lp away.
Fourth Round- Me Against a kid who ran a weenie burner:
1st duel- He won the coin toss(guess what, he called tails…). He used
tremendoes fire and ookazi so many times, it got me dizzy, but he didn't have
anything to protect his lp, so I made quick and easy work with him. My LP had
been 2600, and his lp had been 0(nah, ya think?).
2nd duel- It went pretty much the same. He didn't have any monsters to
protect his lp, but he managed to use 2 Tremendoes Fire and 2 Ookazi. He used 1
Final Flame, too.
Last Round(Finals)- Me Against Jason(runs an Exodia Deck):
1st duel- Finally, a guy who knows how to play right!!! It was a very tough
duel. I had been in the lead, his lp was 700, my lp was 8000. He managed to
stall and even though his exodia pieces were in the graveyard, he was able to
bring most of them back with Backup Soldier. Luckily, I used Nobleman of
Crossout to get rid of an Exodia piece permanently and finished him off since he
didn't have anything else to do.
2nd duel- This duel was way too fast. He had easily got his exodia pieces
out. He had gotten 2 pieces on his first turn and he had gotten the last 3 with
WotBF and Sangan.
3rd duel- This duel was ANNOYING!! I had been in the lead, it was similar
to the first duel. He had gotten Spear Cretin so I couldn't directly attack his
lp. I couldn't get any magic cards to get rid of it so that it wouldn't be
flipped over and the effect will go through, early enough. He got most of his
exodia pieces, but I FINALLY got Nobleman of Crossout to get rid of an exodia
piece that was left over, and I had gotten rid of Spear Cretin with Raigeki. I
finally wiped all his lp away. He tried using waboku, but I had Seven Tools of
the Bandit waiting. ^_^
Overall: The tournament was kinda boring. Jason was the only tough opponent
I had. It was still fun, and I got 5 packs of Magic Ruler booster packs and
5 packs of Pharaoh's Servant booster packs. I still haven't opened them, I don't
know why, though..
Props:
- To me for winning first place.
- To Jason who got very good cards from booster packs.
- To kid who ran a weenie burner for gaining a Magic Jammer from me for a
Magic Drain(I felt sorry for him, and it was an extra one).
Slops:
- For my cousin, Aline, losing in the 2nd round.
- For my cousin, Ray, for losing in the 1st round.
- For the tourny not being exciting
- For the kid who lost a basketball game to me cuz he challenged me after I
beat him in a "friendly duel"(he say me beat all the other kids and said that he
could beat me since he beat my cousin).
