The Laws Of Gravity
The Big E
Tri-County Flea Market
Levittown, NY
# of People: 14, I think
Entry Fee: $5$
The way it worked was there were
five rounds. You got paired up with another person at random. At the
end of five rounds, whoever did the best went to the finals and got a
prize.. Everyone else got nothing:( So anyway, here's the
deck:
3xAmazon Archer
1xCannon Soldier
2xGiant Germ
2xPrincess of Tsurugi
3xTroop Dragon
2xMagician of Faith
2xDream Clown
1xSangan
1xCyber Jar
1xWitch of the Black Forest
1xMask of Darkness
1xPenguin Soldier
2x4-Starred Ladybug of Doom
6xStaples
2xMystical Space Typhoon
1xHeavy Storm
1xScapegoat
1xCard Destruction
1xTremendous Fire
2xSeven Tools of the Bandit
3xTrap Hole
2xGravity Bind
1xImperial Order
2xJust Desserts
When I got there, I saw so many people with
beatdown decks. The only people without a beatdown was me, two kids with
Exodia decks, a little kid I duel later, and another person with a Clown
Control.
This was my first tournament. Before the
tournament started, I bought a few cards and started to change my deck(The deck
posted was the final draft of my deck). I dueled a kid with a
beatdown(everybody had these!) and lost before the tournament started. I
looked through my deck and saw that i had only one Amazon Archer.
Frantically, I went to and bought two more Amazon Archers and a Fairy's Gift(My
good luck charm). I got back just in time for the duels to
start.
Round 1
The Big E vs. Dave
He had a beatdown, like almost everyone else.
I got a bad hand with Mask of Darkness and all magics. I never got a
chance to get out Cannon Soldier or Amazon Archer. Bazoo blew right
through my life points.
Next duel, I got Troop Dragon and Change of
Heart in my hand. I let him go first. I set Troop dragon on my
turn. He didn't attack. I used Change of Heart, but he played
Imperial Order. On his turn, he had Gemini Elf, Bazoo, and Goblin Attack
Force on the field. He attacked Troop Dragon, and all his other monsters
had to attack the Troop Dragons I had. This one lasted a bit longer,
but I still lost again.
Record:0-1
Round 2
The Big E vs. Tom
He was very nice to me, but hated Gravity Bind
Decks. These duels were so close every time.
His deck was pretty much the same as Dave's was,
only he had Asura Priest. I got out Gravity Bind early and destroyed most
of his monsters, especially Jinzo(yay!). I got Scape Goat and Amazon
Archer and pretty much had the game from there.
The second duel he got Jinzo before I got Gravity
Bind. I destroyed Jinzo and Kycoo, but by the time I did that, the
duel was basically his. He got out Bazoo, Yata, and Goblin and beat me on
the next turn.
The last duel was the longest one ever. I
kept on using ScapeGoat and Amazon Archer combo, Using Magician of Faith, and
getting it back. He destroyed Gravity Bind and started to take me
down. I had 450 left and he was about to attack, but i used Just Desserts
and beat him.
Wow! I thought i was almost over! Cards like
Princess of Tsurugi and Just Desserts saved my @$$ a few other times. Now
it was time for the third round.
Record:1-1
Round 3
The Big E vs. Kevin
Lol it was so funny what he babbled about. He
was pretty good, though. He would give speech before he would do
something(like on the show).Anyway.....
ANOTHER BEATDOWN. I really hate those...he
had GAF out and it lasted for like a turn and I used Dark Hole. I got
Gravity Bind and Cannon Soldier out. I was doing pretty well, but he came
back in the end with Jinzo and Bazoo. GGRRAAAAAHHH I hate
Jinzo!!!
I basically had the same thing the next duel, only
I did 500 to his life points and he finished me off.
Record:1-2
Round 4
The Big E vs. The kid I Already Dueled
Remember the kid I dueled before the
tournament? Well, this was him. I didn't manage to catch his name,
but guess what? HE ALSO HAD A BEATDOWN!!!
I got Amazon Archer, Gravity Bind, and Scapegoat in
my opening hand. I played Gravity Bind and Archer in attack. Next
turn, I played Scapegoat and did 2400 with Amazon Archer. He had a bunch
of level 4 monsters on the field, so i set $ star ladybug. He played
Hayabusa and attacked lady bug. I got out Tsurugi and won the duel from
there.
The next one I wasn't so lucky. He got out
Yata and Jinzo, destroying my whole strategy. Everything went downhill
from there. I eventually lost.
The third duel was almost a tie. I got out
Just Desserts, Tsurugi, and 2 Dream Clowns. I did pretty well. We
kept on destroying each other's cards. It was like the third duel with
Tom, and I kept on getting Gravity Bind Back. Jinzo almost killed
me. I had Tremendous Fire in my hand, which could have tied us. But
I didn't and lost.
Record:1-3
Round 5
The Big E vs. John
By this time, I knew I wouldn't have made it into
the top four. But I still never gave up.
John was a little kid who had like, a 70 card
deck. You knew he was going to lose either way. I felt so bad for
him, but that wouldn't stop me from beating him. He played cards like
Ground Attacker Bugroth and Ancient Elf. I went a little easy on
him. The first game was mine.
The second duel showed his true skill. He had
Jinzo and Summoned Skull out, but I used Dark Hole. I played Gravity
Bind. I kept on using Amazon Archer and Cannon Soldier's effect for the
win.
Record:2-3
Overall, I think I did O.K. for my first
tournament. Now I know what to look for next tournament.
Props:
-To my deck, especially Amazon Archer.
-To Tom, for giving me tips on how to make better
Gravity Bind deck.
-To my mom for dropping me there and to my dad for
picking me up.
Slops:
-To Jinzo!! GGRRAAAHHH!!!!
-To people with beat down decks. Why don't
you do something that not every other person in the tournament has?
-To me leaving my field open during the first
round.
