Now, the tournament was at Trademart
in Moline, Illinois. It was me and another duelist named Broc that set up
the tournaments. I decided that this Saturday I would set up the doubles
tournament (and I was rewarded with a booster pack from Tod :) ). There
were twelve teams in all (one was mine, which my ally was the powerful Jeric),
and this is what happened. Note: Jeric has an almost identical deck with
mine.
Round one: Me + Jeric vs. Two people (I forgot their names)
It went by so quickly that I couldn't
remember what really happened. I just KOed the kid with La Jinn and my
partner was stuck with Summoned Skull.
2-0
Round two: Me + Jeric
vs. Neal and annoying kid
Both Neal and
the annoying kid was not really much of a challenge, but a stall. They set
up themselves with Swords of Light on the first turn, but I broke their hearts
with Heavy Storm. I brought out Kycoo and began to exterminate their
graveyards. We hammered Neal and got both of them. The second match
was a little bit quicker, but more annoying. While Neal was whistling
"Somewhere over the Rainbow," Jeric pulled up Swords and defended himself with
Cyber Jar. Then, when it was my turn, I played Raigeki, reborned Jinzo,
summoned Kuriboh with two Axes and United We Stand and KOed Neal, leading us up
to the finals.
4-0
Final Round: Me + Jeric vs. JP and Tony (Gravity Bind
and Exodia)
This was a pain in the
......... We knew exactly what kind of decks that they played, but we
under-estimated them. It started with JP's GB and Jeric's face-down
monster. Tony kept pulling up Sangans and WOBF, but we KOed them, which he
pulled up more Exodia parts. We tried to pull out Jinzo, but every attempt
failed because of the Solemn Judgements and Magic Jammers (from Monster Reborn).
As we predicted, Tony pulled up Exodia. Round two had the same
results: Exodia returns.
4-2
