Hey, first off, I'd like to tell you that my e-mail address isn't working, so send me e-mail at calseth134@yahoo.com instead. Yes, I finally ended the search for my deck. It is a beatdown similar to my old ones except it isn't running a Jinzo or Swords of Revealing Light, due to the fact that mine were recently stolen. I am running Gearfrieds in this deck because I don't run equipment Magic cards besides Snatch Steal and Premature Burial, but those really don't count. I decided on the name, "State of Emergency." It sounded cool, and I saw an advertisment for the game on a website.

I have a question too, why aren't more people running Fissure? It's flawless monster removal.

I arrived at Ground Zero with my deck in my backpack, and confidence running through my body like adrenaline when your about to fight someone. I found out that Cesar stopped using his beloved Equip-Beatdown because all he was drawing were equips. He told me he went to a speed Thunder Dragon deck. I signed up and bought a PSV booster hoping to get Jinzo, but I got some crappy card.

Round 1
Opponent: Mitchell (Burner)

First duel, I used Snatch Steal on his f/d card and tributed for Summoned Skull and blasted away his open field. I played some defense cards hoping to protect his life points. I played Dark Hole, used Call of the Haunted on Barrel Dragon and crippled his life points for the win.

Second duel, He hit me with his burn cards, but I was able to recover with a few blasts from Barrel Dragon. He played an Ookazi to do 800 damage, bringing me down to 1000 life points. I laid Wall of Illusion and set Imperial Order. He played Tremendous Fire, hoping to finish me off. Imperial Order, stopped that. I tributed Wall of Illusion for Summoned Skull and attacked his open field.

Round 2
Opponent: Surge (Retro-Burn)

First duel, OK, two burners in a row, I think I can handle it. I got out Bazoo, and Barrel Dragon was keeping the field clear. He was hitting me with his Burn cards, but I overcame his forces with Heavy Storm and Gearfried. I played Dark Hole, laid another Bazoo, removed 3 monsters and hit him for 2500, ending the duel.

Second duel, I was a little suprised I beat Surge so easily. I know he'll be alot harder this duel. He had the upper hand for a while, but Summoned Skull and Goblin Attack Force broke though his defense and opened up the field for some direct attacking. I launched with Cannon Soldier to finish him off.

Round 3
Opponent: Phillip (Machine Beatdown)

First duel, Phillip recently converted his Flash beatdown into a Machine Beatdown, since 90% of his monsters were Machines anyways. He started by laying a monster in defense. I played Change of Heart and tributed for Summoned Skull, and hit him for 2500 right off the bat. He played Fissure and laid a Gearfried and hit me in the open field. A few turns later, I used Premature Burial anf Barrel Dragon and hit him with all my monsters to finish the duel.

Second duel, He totally owned me with his Barrel Dragons and Jinzo. I played Raigeki, and hit his opne field with Bazoo. He summoned a monster, but I used Trap Hole. I hit him for another 1600 with Bazoo. A few turn later, he played Raigeki, tributed for Barrel Dragon, used Limiter Removal and finished me off.

Third duel, He hit me so fast with his Mechanical Chasers and Barrel Dragons. I got him a few times with Summoned Skull, but in the end he played Limiter Removal to finish me off.

Round 4: 3rd Place
Opponent: Cesar (Thunder Dragon)

First duel, I was totally shocked by the speed of his new deck. He drew needed cards like it wasn't a big deal. He finished me off with ease when his THTD got out onto the field. Can you say 2 Thunder Dragons + Fusion Gate = Armageddon for me?

Second duel, His Nimble Momongas and Giant Germs were thinning his deck considerably. Luckily he didn't draw any Thunder Dragons. I hit him with Barrel Dragon in the open field. He played Raigeki and hit me with La Jinn. It was too late for him though. Dark Hole, Bazoo, remove 3 cards = 2500 in the open field. Vitti Vinni Vicci!

Third duel, I didn't want this to got to a third duel, because I have terrible luck in third duel situations. He got out his THTD wicked early and annihilated my forces. I laid Wall of Illusion in defense, but he simple used Fissure and hit my open field to finish me off. Props to him.

I think I did well in this tournament. I am currently ranked #3 at my store, behind Cesar and Surge. Phillip is nipping at my heels; he's behind me by 4 points, so if I lose in the first or second round in the last Season 2 match, I'll finish 4th, which would suck.
