Hello, all duelists!
Most of you know me from the past few tournament reports that I have sent
in, but for you that haven't the slightest clue of who I am, I am Robert
Sanders. Anyways, today I am trying out a new deck that is well
under-estimated. This deck is based to take down the opponent's hand and
deck, while going for a Dark Machine-type theme. It works pretty good and
has done more damage than expected. Here it is:
Monsters: x21
2x Magician of Faith
3x Man-Eater Bug
1x Penguin Soldier
2x
Needle Worm (Both of them are Japanese, but getting the American version seems
impossible)
1x Cyber Jar
1x Sangan
1x Witch of the Black Forest
1x Mystic Tomato
3x Cannon Soldier
1x Ground Attacker Bugroth (I
recieved an Overdrive after the tournament to replace my Bugroth)
1x
Guardian of the Throne Room
1x The Bistro Butcher (This card is better than
you think in this deck)
2x Gemini Elf
1x Barrel Dragon
(Jinzo
belongs in this deck, but no one will trade Jinzo to me)
Magics: x15
1x Card Destruction
1x Change of Heart
1x Confiscation
1x Dark
Hole
1x Delinquent Duo
2x Graceful Charity
1x Heavy Storm
1x
Limiter Removal
2x Malevulent Nuzzler (Poor man's Axe of Despair)
1x
Monster Reborn
1x Pot of Greed
1x Swords of Revealing Light
1x The
Forceful Sentry
Traps: x6
1x Imperial Order
2x Robbin' Goblin
2x Time Seal
1x Waboku
I
know, I know, you probably think that it is funny that I play Time Seal, but it
is always under-estimated to what it does. These cards are not the
greatest, but the deck does considerable damage to the opponent. My Needle
Worms are very useful, but I wish that I could get the american version.
Anyways, the tournament was like every
Saturday..... I was greeted by some of the coolest duelists like Andy Green and
everyone else. Broc wasn't there because he had to go to one of his
friend's birthday party, which that kinda sucked because he is one of the only
duelists that is quite the challenge to me. As I was saying, Jeric and
William were there like always (which is an excellent thing) and the tournament
began a little later. I was the coach to set it up and by rolling a 20
sided die, the results were in and this is who I had to take on.
Round One: Me vs. Hershel (Wind Deck)
Well, here is another deck that is
based on one theme. I started with a Needle Worm face down in defense mode
and he took the bait by attacking with Bladefly. He then summoned Harpie's
Brother and I thought I was going to have some trouble.... until I pulled up my
Gemini Elf. On his turn, he couldn't pull up a monster I assumed and he
passed his turn. I summoned Ground Attacker Bugroth, played two cards
face-down, and dented his life points by doing direct damage. Next turn,
he summoned Girochen Kuwagata and went to attack my Bugroth, but Limiter Removal
made him quite surprised. His Kuwagata went to the graveyard, but was
sadly accompanied by my Bugroth. On my turn, I summoned The Bistro Butcher
and had my Gemini Elf attack. On his turn, he set a monster in defense
mode and ended his turn. On my turn, I tributed my two monsters and
brought up my Darkness Machine Deck's ultimate monster: Barrel Dragon! I
used his effect and suceeded and attacked his life points directly, finishing
off his life points.
This match didn't
take long because of my starting strategy. I played Graceful Charity and
Barrel Dragon and Monster Reborn was in my hand. I discarded Barrel Dragon
and another card, Monster Reborned my Barrel Dragon, and summoned Cannon
Soldier. It was his turn and he summoned Girochen Kuwagata equipped with
Malevulent Nuzzler and he destroyed my Cannon Soldier. After that, Barrel
Dragon destroyed that monster, and did serious damage within the next few turns,
ending the game. Score: 2-0
Round Two: Me vs. William Hollister
(Jeric's Brother) (Anything Deck)
Naturally, William would be using
his Dark Deck, but some idiot stole his deck and he was forced to play with a
watered-down deck made up of his trading cards. I started with Time Seal,
Limiter Removal and Robbin' Goblin face down and summoned Cannon Soldier.
On his turn, he summoned Cure Mermaid, which I activated Robbin' Goblin in
response. He attacked my Cannon Soldier, but I surprised him with Limiter
Removal. With the Robbin' Goblin effect, I removed one of his cards from
his hand. On my turn, I activated Time Seal, summoned Gemini Elf, and kept
attacking his life points until his life points dropped to zero.
On round two, he went first by setting a
monster in defense mode. I played Dark Hole on my turn, set down a card on
the Magic/Trap card zone and summoned Sangan, doing a direct attack. On
his turn, he couldn't pull up anything and passed his turn. I summoned
Cannon Soldier and flipped over Robbin' Goblin and I am sure you know exactly
what I did. I attacked him with both monsters, then launched Sangan to his
life points, removing two cards from his hand to the graveyard. The duel
continued as he finally got cards, and Needle Worm was brought up and was used
on William. At the end, I Monster Reborned the Wingweaver that was taken
from his hand and finished off his life points. Nice try, William. Score:
4-0
Round Three: Me vs. James R. (Magnet Warrior Deck)
I went first and I played Time Seal.
I summoned...... actually, this was so quick of a battle that I didn't get
to take many notes except that I finished him off with Cannon Soldier.
Sorry :(
In the second round, I
started again with Time Seal and I set down Needle Worm. He Change of
Heart it and used its effect on me. He also summoned Harpie's Brother and
did direct damage. On my turn, I played Cyber Jar in defense mode, which
he attacked. After that, for some reason, he forfeited. Oh well.....
easy win, I guess. Score: 6-0
Round Four: Me vs. Tony R. (Dark
Magician Deck)
Tony told me that
this is a Dark Magician Deck, but Dark Magician didn't show up at all.
Another thing is that I am surprised that I am taking on James R.'s
brother. Anyways, I started with a Man-Eater Bug in face-down defense.
He set a monster in defense mode and ended his turn. I flipped the
bug and equipped it with Malevulent Nuzzler. I also activated Time Seal to
prevent him from drawing and kept attacking his life points. My bug was
eventually attacked and destroyed, but then I summoned Ground Attacker Bugroth
and attacked directly. After that, I kept summoning monsters and
eventually finished off his life points.
The second match was so quick that I,
once again, didn't take much note on this battle. All I wrote down was
that I finished him off with Gemini Elf. Score: 8-0
Round Five
(Final Round): Me vs. Michael (My brother) (F-I-N-A-L/Beatdown Deck)
My, haven't my brother's skills
improved! I started with Needle Worm in defense mode, and my brother
attacked it, activating its effect. He eventually summoned Summoned Skull
w/ Malevulent Nuzzler and was on the offensive. He attacked my Witch of
the Black Forest and I brought up the monster that gets me out of every
situation: Cyber Jar! I pulled up some offensive monsters while he had
Man-Eater Bugs for face-down defense. He pulled up Destiny Board and
another card, but I disappointed him with Heavy Storm. The duel continued
on and on and on and on and on and on.................. I almost had him
because he was down to four cards, but he got the upper hand and finished off my
life points.
On the second round, I
started with Time Seal, but he went again for the Destiny Board. I had
Heavy Storm, which I played, but he eventually used my monsters against me and
won dealing over 6000 damage in one hit. Great game, bro!
Well, I got second place, which
isn't too bad, but prizes were only given out by random, not by rank. I
dislike that rule alot. Oh well.... Good Luck and Happy Dueling :)
Props:
-Chicken Pizza
-Michael got first
-I got second
-My new deck shines brightly
Slops:
-No booster pack for me
-Jeric lost in the first round against a cheater (he was using a weaker
deck)
-Michael didn't get a pack because of his rank
-Broc wasn't there
-Headache

needs it.
Oh, one more thing before
I'm done, my Darkness Beatdown Deck hasn't been dismantled, so that is still
able to battle.
