Wind
beatdown deck.
The
advantage of a Wind beatdown deck over a spellcaster/fiend deck is the
difference between yami and rising air current.
Yami adds
200 to the attack and defence of all fiends and spellcasters.
Rising air
current raises the attack of all wind monsters by 500 and decreases their
defence by 400.
That means
those non tribute 1800’s go to a whopping 2300 rather than your 2000 or 2100
(in the case of Gemini elf). This deck can work as a normal beatdown just with
the use of wind monsters, my personal favourites are Harpies brother, Dancing
fairy & Garuda The wind Spirit/Blue Winged Crown. I do not have unlimited
money and so my deck does not contain some extremely rare staples as I wish it
would.

I played
this deck in a local Saturday Tournament, no Tournament packs involved just a
small shop trying to sell more packs I think. Although over 20 people entered
only a few of them were any good, I say 3 or 4 dudes with Exodia decks. One
with an amazing Earth Deck using Gaia Power beatdown, and 2 Limiter Removals. I
saw many spellcaster and fiend decks.. And
I say some decks that didn’t make any sense.
Duel 1 vs.
Exodia Deck (this dude was over 30)
He knew
what he was doing, the only 2 cards I remember drawing at first were 2 rising
Air Current’s and Penguin Soldier. Played Soldier face down, he played some 200
defence. Returned both drew Harpies brother and from their I was pretty much beating
down every monster with my 2300 Harpies and a 2200 fairy and then I drew a
Nuzzler and it was all over with a 3000 defence monster, trap hole and 2
fissures ready. At the end I was surprised to see he had 3 Pieces of Exodia in
his hand, one in the graveyard from confiscation.
Final Score
5000 – 0 I used Confiscation and Graverobber =)
Second
duel… what can I say first hand 2 nuzzlers and a harpies and a fairy, he didn’t
have a chance as he was playing Exodia, his Labyrinth wall was overpowered by a
Harpies with 3500 attack =P
Duel 2 vs.
someone who couldn’t play
Firstly he
played Gaia the fierce knight without tribute… I explained. He yapped on about
the TV show, I think he felt silly. He wasn’t too bad though as he powered up
some nice monsters, but then he tried to play a second reborn and said his
friend lent him it to win… again I explained.
Won both
duels, can’t remember scores neither were hard.
Duel 3 vs.
Spellcaster Beatdown
This dude
was good, he packed 2 Gemini Elf’s! and had 3 Maha Vailo’s (or summin) and even
got out a relinquished. As he went first he played Maha Vailo with axe of
despair, I drew fissure, Harpies Brother and a wind current… took early
advantage. He never really came back in this duel, I mean he was forced to put
GAF’s in defence mode and even when he got out a skull with soul exchange I
just equipped another nuzzler to a harpy and won =)
4800 – 0
The second
time round, well I don’t know how but I didn’t draw a monster for 2 turns, and
then I drew magician of Faith. He got a heft early advantage, but solemn wishes
kept me alive, made a struggle to come back but for some reason a princess of
Tsurgi finished me off, I had a javelin ready to win =/ If I cud of powered up
my skulls with the rising air current I may have been able to win.
0-2300
Last duel
again he was just overpowered by my Harpies, I got 3 of them on the field at
one point all at 2300. He used rageiki…but I still had some fairies with
nuzzlers and a penguin soldier and just snapped at his life points continuously.
One of my best duels I think.
2600-0
-=Semi-Final=-
Me vs. Lord
Of D. Deck.
This guy
had 3 Lord of D’s. 3 Blue eyes, 2 Tri-horned and a red eyes! Along with the 3
flute of summoning I was scared. I took early advantage, then came first flute after he used sangan for
his Lord Of D… he brought out a Red-Eyes and a Blue Eyes… I made an amazing
Harpies and used Garuda to flip his Lord Of D to attack mode taking heft life
points.. he didn’t have time for a second big summoning as I was scared to do
anything but attack with everything possible including a penguin soldier to
finish him off lol.
Last 2
duels I lost, I don’t want to say he cheat shuffled but he used his lord of D
combo times without drawing any cards
to search for these monsters. 2 Blue eyes came, then 2 Tri-Horned in the first
one. Inn the second one he used 2 flute of summoning on the 3rd turn
and brought out Blue Eyes, Red Eyes and 2 Tri-Horned. I ran out of monster
removal and lost both due to a lack of a magic Jammer.
I heard this
guy lost in final to a lethal Machine beatdown by some kid who called himself
Bandit Ben (lol, he was only 11 but apparently he countered everything and the
other dude never had a chance)
