Usually I don’t write Tourney
Reports (This is MY first report) but since I actually won the tournament (First
tourney I ever won) I thought I would write one. I had a notebook to write down
score/notes so my tourney might seem depth. I wanted my tourney report to be
different from the ones that I have read in the past so I decided to make it a
play-by-play tourney report. The point to this deck is to remove as many cards
from my opponent’s graveyard as possible then use Fiber Jar, reset the duel, and
try to deck him or her out. Most of the time I “top-deck” my opponent to win but
I do try to “deck him out”. As to why I have 44 cards instead of 40 is just
because some duelists now in my area are changing from Beat-Down to
Deck-Depletion, so I try to make it bigger enough so I won’t get “deck-out”
myself but still have a small amount of cards so that I get everything I need. I
know that my deck might look a little un-focus but these are the cards I got and
I don’t have the money to buy individual cards since all my money goes towards
car insurance. Anyways, its Saturday and my brother, my friend and I all go to
Who’s on First? This local card shop near by and enter the tournament. I got PGD
booster pack for entering, I got Pyramid Turtle as the rare but the good part
was that I got Dice Jar which I put in my deck as another reason so have Barrel
Behind the Door.

Round #1- Me vs. Kevin (Exodia
Deck): Well I expected this to be an easy victory as my deck kinda
counter-Exodia. I met Kevin before and I knew that the only thing I had to worry
about is his Yata that he keeps in his deck. Kevin is 14 years old while I am
17. So I flip a coin and went first.
I drew and got Graceful Charity,
Sasuke Samurai, Ceasefire, Drop-Off, Bazoo, and Robbin’ Goblin. Play Graceful
and got Witch, Dust and Change of Heart. Discarded Bazoo and Robbin’. Play Witch
in Defense and set Dust, Ceasefire, and Drop-Off. END TURN
He drew and I Drop-Off. It was His Pot of Greed. Next he played a monster face-down and two M/T face-down. END TURN
I drew Dark Hole and played Change of Heart, which he chained to Imperial Order that I then chained to Dust Tornado. His face-down was Magician Of Faith, which I flipped and got Change again. Summoned Sasuke and all three attacked. I assumed his second face-down card was Back-up Soldier.
END TURN- (Me-8000LP….Kevin-6100LP)
He drew summoned Sagan and attacked my Sasuke but before his attack I activated Ceasefire and he took 2000LP. He then played Swords of Revealing Lights.
END TURN- (Me-7500LP….Kevin-4100LP)
I drew Pot of Greed and got Different Dimension Capsule and Morphing #2. Played Dark Hole and searched for Witch and chose Magician of Faith. I then played Different Dimension Capsule, which Kevin didn’t know what it did. I chose Card Destruction and remove it from play as part of Different Dimension Capsule’s ruling. Set down Morphing Jar #2. END TURN
Kevin drew and summoned his Witch and attacked my Morphing Jar #2. This was the turning point because when he brought all three monsters back into his deck, Witch, Sagan, and Magician, he had to discard over 10 magic/trap cards and set down the Head of Exodia and Mask of Darkness. He didn’t have to set down a third monster from morphing #2 because it was Thunder Dragon, which was discarded. END TURN
I drew got Morphing#2 again but decided to set down Magician of Faith and played Change of Heart again and chose his Mask of Darkness since I need where it was. Flip it and got Drop-Off again. Set Drop-Off down. Next turn I’ll get Card Destruction from my DDC.
END TURN- (Kevin has like 4cards in his hand and 10 cards in his deck)
In this turn there is a little controversy as Kevin quickly drew his card and QUICKLY set it down without allowing me to play Drop-Off….We argued until the owner said that I was right and Kevin was forced to discard which might of help him get back Exodia’s Head. He later called me a Cheater and such…he then played Graceful Charity (I forgot what he discarded) anyways, he passed his turn. END TURN
I drew Spirit Reaper, got Card
Destruction in my Standby Phase, played Destruction and got new cards, flip my
face-down Magician of Faith and played Card Destruction again. Kevin had no
cards left in his deck and lost 3 out of the 5 pieces of the Forbidden One and I
WON by DECK-OUT. WHOA!!!!!!!!!
Round #2: Finally I get a BYE,
which again is another first for me, and I go straight to the next
round.
Semi-Finals: Me vs. Shawn with
Last Turn/Mostly Traps Deck
Shawn is a usual at Who’s on
First? and he usually beats me with his Jowen and Last Turn combo. I side-decked
Dark Designator and Seven Tools of the Bandit.
He draws and sets one monster in defense mode and 3 cards face-down END TURN
I drew and I begin my duel with Ring of Destruction,
Summoned Skull, Mystical Space Typhoon, Card Destruction, Monster Reborn and
Different Dimension Capsule. I set down Ring, Reborn, DDC and I play Card
Destruction. It’s chained to Imperial Order, which I chained to MST but that’s
chained to Solemn Judgment. I’m a
little worried now; as I know he’s going to keep lowering he’s LPs until he gets
Last Turn all set up.
END TURN-
(ME-8000LP…..Shawn-4000LP)
He drew one card, paid for
Imperial, summoned Yata, flipped his face-down Sagan and both attacked, I
activated Ring on Yata but he chains it to Shift. (I thought no1 plays that
anymore…) He Shift Ring of Destruction over to his Sagan and and brought Jowen
the Spiritualist to his hand. He ends his turn by setting down another card in
the M/T slot.
END TURN-
(ME-6800LP…..Shawn-2700LP)
I can’t draw from Yata and I pass since all I have is a Summoned Skull in my hand and a Monster Reborn and Different Dimension Capsule face-down in the M/T slots. But I cant do anything because or Imperial Order. END TURN
He draws a card, pays for Imperial Order, Summoned Jowgen
the Spiritualist on to the field. I tell him it was his biggest mistake but he
said that he didn’t want to waste the Yata-Lock on me and just use Last Turn. He
attacks with Jowgen
END TURN-
(ME-6600LP…..Shawn-2000LP)
I draw Dust Tornado set it down
and end my turn. END TURN
He draws, pays for Imperial Order
again. I quickly activate Dust Tornado not on Imperial but on his face down
card, which was Last Turn. He tells me that he doesn’t care since he has 3 Mask
of Darkness and 1 more Last Turn in his deck. He sets one card in the M/T zone
and attacks again with Jowgen.
END TURN-
(ME-6400LP…..Shawn-1300LP)
I draw Fiber Jar , set it down.
END TURN
Shawn draws one card and plays
Rageki but he forgot that he paid for Imperial so he discards it and puts Jowgen
in Defense Mode,
END TURN-
(ME-6400LP……Shawn-600LP)
I drew Soul Release but I Flip-up
my Fiber Jar and summoned Morphing Jar #2 from my new hand of 5 cards and I
attack his open field for the win.
END GAME-
(ME-6400LP……Shawn-0LP)
Finals: Me vs. Guy with a
Expensive Beatdown Deck
Well I’m finally at the finals. I
think it was because I got that bye in round 2, well anyways I’m going up
against the guy who beat my brother in the semi-finals, which I was pissed at
because I wanted to go brother vs. brother for the championship but whatever….
He won the coin toss and went first. I sidedecked Fiend Comedian and took out
Fairy’s Meteor Crush. Usually I have Fiend Comedian in my deck but whenever I
call it wrong I get decked out because I lose Fiber Jar.
He drew one card, summoned Gemini
Elf in attack mode and set 2 cards face down. END TURN
In my hand I had MST, Monster
Reborn, White Magical Hat, Dice Jar, Sagan, and Different Dimension Capsule. I
set down Sagan, MST, and played DDC. I chose Barrel Behind the Door. END
TURN
He drew one card, tribute Gemini Elf for Jinzo, played his Monster Reborn got back Gemini Elf and attacked Sagan with Gemini and Jinzo attacked my Life Points directly. I chose Cyber Jar from Sagan and he MSTed my MST so I chained it and destroyed one of his face-down cards, which was Magic Cylinder.
END TURN-
(Me-5600LP……Guy-8000LP)
I drew Morphing Jar #2 I was going to set it down but I decided that I wanted Jinzo in the graveyard so I set down Cyber Jar to end my turn. END TURN
He summoned another Gemini Elf, played Harpie’s Feather
Duster, which destroyed my Different Dimension Capsule. Because DDC got
destroyed my Barrel Behind the Door was going to be removed from play for the
rest of the duel. His Gemini Elf attacked my Cyber Jar. I got another Morphing
Jar #2, Susuke Samurai, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, Confiscation and Waboku. I
forgot all the cards we had but He did summoned 3 and I mean 3 Mechanical
Chasers. All my monsters were set down. He attacked my Susuke and Kycoo and then
my Morphing Jar #2. He set down one Mechanical Chaser and one La Jinn and he
lost a Dark Ruler Ha Des and about 4 or 5 magic and trap cards. END
TURN
I drew Graceful Charity. I got my
Barrel behind the Door in my Standby Phase from DDC. I played GC and drew Pot of
Greed, Hiro’s Shadow Scout and Magician of Faith. Discarded Hiro’s Shadow Scout
and White Magical Hat. I played Pot of Greed and got Spirit Reaper and Fiend
Comedian. I set down Waboku and Fiend Comedian. I played Confiscation and set
down Magician of Faith. I took out his second Dark Ruler Ha Des
END TURN-
(Me-4600LP…..Guy-8000LP)
He drew one card, flip-summoned
Mechanical Chaser and La Jinn and normal summoned his second Mechanical Chaser.
All three monsters attacked and I activated Waboku only to have it negated by
his face-down card, Seven Tools of the Bandit. He attacked first with La Jinn
and destroyed my Magician of Faith. I got back Graceful Charity. After that his
2 Mechanical Chasers attacked my Life Points directly.
END TURN-
(Me-900LP…..Guy-8000LP)
I drew Penguin Soldier. Played Graceful Charity. Got Soul Release, Hiro’s Shadow Scout(again), and Card Destruction. I discarded Morphing Jar #2 and Soul Release. I had 7 cards in my hand including Card Destruction. I could’ve played Spirit Reaper in defense mode but I decided to play Card Destruction(in hopes of getting Fiber Jar). I discarded my hand and drew 6 new cards. I got what I wanted Fiber Jar. I also got…Heavy Storm, Robbin’ Goblin, Drop-Off, Bazoo the Soul Eater and Kuriboh. I set down Fiber Jar. END TURN
He drew one card, tribute La Jinn
for Summoned Skull and attacked. Before his attack, I activated Fiend Comedian.
I flip the coin, call heads and it was head. I was so excited because he had
like 25-30 cards in his graveyard and I would’ve decked myself out if I called
it wrong. So now all the cards in his graveyard was removed and he attacked my
Fiber Jar and we started a new duel with 5 new cards. Since he already normal
summoned a monster all we could do was set 1 card face-down in the M/T slots.
END TURN
In my new hand I got Magician of Faith, Fiber Jar, Card Destruction, MST, Dust Tornado, and Drop-Off. I set down Magician of Faith, MST, Dust Tornado, Drop-Off and played Card Destruction. I drew Sasuke Samurai.
END TURN
He drew a card. Summoned Goblin Attack Force and attacked my Magician of Faith. I got back Card Destruction.
END TURN
I drew Dice Jar but I wasn’t going to take the chance of playing it and losing by the roll of the die. I thought to myself that I already pushed my luck with Fiend Comedian. So I set down Sasuke Samurai and played Card Destruction again. I drew the card I needed, which was Spirit Reaper.
END TURN
He drew one card and he had only like 4 cards left in his deck. He summoned Gemini Elf and attacked. I lost Sasuke Samurai but at least I still had 900LP. If he summoned a different monster besides from Goblin Attack Force I would’ve lost. But luckily he didn’t.
END TURN
I drew Drop-Off. I set-down Spirit Reaper and Drop-Off to end my turn.
END TURN
He drew but I Dropped-Off his card and he turn Goblin Attack Force in attack mode and attacked with Gemini Elf. He saw my Spirit Reaper and said “Of all the monsters you could of have face-down…”
END TURN
I drew Confiscation. I passed this turn.
END TURN
He drew cards and ended up DECK OUT
Finals: Me-900LP….Guy 8000LP but deck out
Props:
- I won my first tourney.
- My brother won 3rd and got the Yu-Gi-Oh! Price Guide, which is like the greatest prize ever…LoL
- Spirit Reaper, for being the card that won me the duel.
- Having the Final duel be one of the most exciting duels I ever had.
Cons:
- My friend lost first round
- Not having the whole collection of Jars. I’m missing Morphing Jar #1 and Cobra Jar.
- People who cheat and steal cards. Unless its Morphing Jar #1 and you sell it to me for like 1 dollar.
