As
most of you can tell, this is Vodkam’s Gravekeeper Deck, with minor changes
made by myself. This deck is made for quick strikes, by getting a few
Gravekeepers out with Necrovalley, making them very powerful. Well, I just
wanted to let everyone know that this deck is awesome. I didn’t stay long, but
I’ll tell you what happened while I was at the tourney.
1st
Match: Me vs. Tall New Guy
The
new guy had a decent deck, but nowhere near as potent as some of the other
decks in the tourney. He seems to have made it with all cards from LON and
back. He went first and placed a monster in defense mode and two face-down M/T
cards. I then used Terraforming and got out Necrovalley and played it. I then
summoned a Spearsoldier and attacked. The facedown card was a Forgiving Maiden,
and with the Spearsoldier’s ATK at 2000, the attack did nothing. On his turn,
he played Dark Hole and passed without playing a monster. I drew a Chief and
sacrificed the Spearsoldier to play him, and used the Chief’s effect to bring
the Spearsoldier out again. I attacked and he played Mirror Force. I set a M/T
and ended my turn. On his next turn he played a WotBF and attacked with it. I
played my Rite of Spirit that just set and brought back my Chief. He chose not
to attack and passed on his turn. I set a Spy and a MST and attacked his Witch,
doing the first damage of the match.
Me:
8000
New
Guy: 6700
Oh
his turn he played a Fiend Megacyber equipped with a Black Pendent and
destroyed my Chief, doing damage to my life points.
Me:
7700
New
Guy: 6700
On
my turn I flipped over the Spy and brought out an Assailant, then I tributed
the spy for my other Chief, then used the Chief’s effect to bring out a Spearsoldier
from my graveyard. Since Fiend Megacyber’s ATK was at 2700 and my Chief’s ATK
was 2400, I used Assailant’s effect to make the Fiend go into defense mode.
With a mere 1200 DEF, the Fiend Megacyber was nothing when it was hit by
Spearsoldier’s 2000 ATK, followed by 2000 and 2400 direct. I played one last
facedown trap before ending my turn.
Me:
7200
New
Guy: 1500
He
drew a card, and I activated Ring of Destruction, killing off my own Chief and
winning the first Duel.
The
second duel was when everyone came to watch the Gravekeeper deck in action. New
Guy chose to go first and played a facedown monster and two facedown M/Ts. I
went and set my Witch, then ended my turn. He played two more M/Ts, summoned a
Kycoo, attacked my Witch and ended his turn. I played Change of Heart, and took
his Kycoo, then sacrificed it to summon the Jinzo that I got from my Witch
being destroyed. He didn’t like that one bit, as I assumed he had mostly traps
set. I attacked and made a nice dent in his life points. I then set two M/T’s
of my own.
Me:
8000
New
Guy: 5600
I
was wrong about him having all traps set, as he flipped over a Dark Hole and
killed off my Jinzo, leaving my monster field clear. He summoned an Opticlops
and attacked, so I played Magic Cylinder. He ended his turn.
Me:
8000
New
Guy: 3800
I set a Spy down and played Necrovalley, and also set a Call of the Haunted. He summoned another Kycoo and attacked my Spy, taking 700 damage and activating it’s effect. I took out a Spearsoldier, and he put Opticlops into defense mode and ended his turn. I sacrificed the Spy to bring out a Chief and brought the Spy back out again. Then I activated Call of the Haunted, bringing Jinzo back out. Jinzo attacked Kycoo, dealing 600 damage. Spearsoldier attacked Opticlops, dealing another 300 damage. The Chief then dealt him 2400 Direct Damage.
Me: 8000
New Guy: 500
Then the New Guy played the card that seemed to be his trump card, the Fiend Megacyber. He equipped it with United We Stand and killed my Jinzo.
Me: 7400
New Guy: 500
I had to play Harpie’s Feather Duster, even though I expected an Imperial Order to cancel it. To my surprise, it worked. Then I played Snatch Steal, and Hit him with his own super-powered Fiend.
The next round didn’t go so well, as I played Ken, an extremely good player. I didn’t draw any monster cards, and he defeated me in both duels. Nevertheless, I was still extremely impressed with the Gravekeepers. In one turn I was able to turn one monster into three and swarm. I recommend this deck to anyone who wants to try an effective and fun deck.
