12:00-1:00
pm- King of Games
Not
much to do when I got there, so I figure I’d take the challenge. I sat on the
corner, against a little kid that thought he could draw 5 cards every turn. As
I’m in the middle of my game, my old friend Jeff (for those who don’t know,
he’s one of the UDE Masters) comes walking up to me and telling me I should go
over to his side since it was the best one. I say ok and keep playing.
Basically, the kid didn’t have any monsters, so I just shot straight for life
points.
Game 1
Next
Game, I play a quiet guy with too many counter traps (jammer, waboku, etc.) I
just got Delinquent Duo and Confiscation early that game. Game 2
And
last game, against Dave. He was running a Valkyryion deck (found out after
Confiscation) Basically, I got rid of his hand with Don and Spirit Reaper, and
brought out Yata to finish. I then got a booster back which contained the all
powerful……….moisture creature!
Game 3
Well,
now it was time to go check out Jeff’s side on the king of games challenge. I
talk to him a bit, have him check out the newest version of my deck. Of course,
I get into the wrong line lol, and find out soon enough. After waiting a good
20 minutes in line, its finally my turn to play! Now, this kid was undefeated
(I don’t know how) but I say it was a good game. After finding out he had fiber
jar facedown, I activate my own fiber on my main phase one, and get a decent
draw. Now, I got pretty nervous there, he was at 5000 life and I was at 4700. I
got my nimbles out for recovery, but didn’t help much. I finally got board
control after that with spear dragon, and just equipped United We Stand on it
(two nimbles left) for game.
Next
game, against a little kid, but with an awesome deck. Again, confiscation and
Delinquent Duo first hand, but again, didn’t help much. After a grueling fight,
he creature swaps his goat token for my Don, plays Spear, and pretty much gets
my life points to 2700 in that one blow. With the luck of the draw, I get the
almighty fiber jar! I use it, and he gets a jinzo out, and goes for life,
leaving me at 300. I then play reborn, tribute of rmy jinzo, equip United We
Stand and leave him with 200 life. Then, he plays ceasefire.. ending the game.
Jeff and I go and talk a bit more.. and I head to find news on the video games.

pm-Video Games
Ok,
I spend a full 15 minutes running up and down looking for the Terrace (no one
can give me good directions) And finally find it. I look around, and see duel
arenas, the Konami Challenge, and demos. Up on the screen they had Power of
chaos (the Shonen Jump Demo) on the bottom, a few GBA with SDD (they said we’d
get to play Sacred Cards) And they were fixing up the Game Cube for False Bound
Kingdom, so I didn’t get a chance to play test it. This was all the info i was
able to get..
On
falsebound you get to play as either Yugi or Kaiba, and these are different
paths completely.
On
Sacred Cards its another RPG where you get to compete against over 100 other
duelists in a battle for the god cards. Also get to go to Battle City. Over 900
cards to choose from.
On
my way back, I saw one of the American players beating up the Japanese with sasuke
samurai and Ha Des, but I didn’t stick around for too long.
1:45-3:00
pm-King of Games (again)
This
line was much shorter, about 5 minutes. I got to play a guy with an awesome
beatdown. He starts by going at my life with Goblin Attack Force, and in the
next few turns, equipping it with United We Stand. I then play Change of Heart
at the right timing, attack with his goblin and give it back to him in defense
mode. Later, I destroy his swords of revealing at light, snatch steal the
goblin, play my own nimble, play United We Stand, and do massive life point
damage for game. The next two games are a blur to me, I don’t even remember my
opponent’s face, all I remember is that I won that, got myself another booster
with yet another rare (just not my day..) Then, I just say bye to everyone, and
it’s off to the airport.
BTW,
most played song in the event: The one from the episode when Yugi and Joey duel
in Duelist Kingdom, I got that one memorized now..
